Halo 3 ‘devastates’ Hollywood

p2pnet news | Movies:- Now it can be revealed.
File sharers aren’t devastating Hollywood.
It’s Halo 3’s fault.
Well, it could be, anyway.
At least, that’s according to “top executives in the film industry,” says Advertising Age, quoted by joystiq.
“Ticket sales for the first week of October are at their lowest since 1999, and the industry is worried that those dang video games might have something to do with it,” says the story.
Ticket sales are down 27% from last year and, “the likely suspect is the recently-released Halo 3, with over $300 million in sales and countless hours of multiplayer mayhem keeping potential movie-goers strapped to their couches,” says the story.
Say it ain’t SO ! (sob)
“Oh, for the days when piracy was the only concern!” – adds the story ![]()

How long until they start blaming their “devastation” on natural disasters and terrorists?
October 22nd, 2007 at 6:29 pm
If the terrorists had bombed one movie theater, that would have been the death of it. Can you imagine metal detectors at a theater? Cops iwth machine guns? I just bought a home projector…it is bye-bye theaters for me!!!

Our own incompetence is devastating the movie/music industry. Who can we blame this on?

Poor babies. If they want our money, they need to produce something worth paying for.

At least they temporarily stopped blaming it on that new fangled “series of tubes” thingy known as the Internet.

halo 3 kills all, the wii sales are down, the PS3 sales are down, movie ticket sales, and attendance in church sunday morning i suspect as well. also down are the use of laundromats in college towns where axe body spray fills the atmosphere as gamers become nauseous from their own body odor. but on the up side to this… red bull, cheetos, and mountain dew sales are thru the roof
