Hollywood commends Bush administration

p2pnet news | Politics:- George W. Bush will be trembling with delight!

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), owned by Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney, and its principal mouthperson, Dan Glickman, have given “a group of key trading partners” and US trade representative Susan Schwab hearty pats on the back for a good job, well done.

Schwab was front and centre in the US government’s all-out effort, staged (word used advisedly) on behalf of the entertainment cartels, to close down AllofMP3.com, a small Russian music site.

Hollywood Howard Berman has joined her as the studios shift their attention to anything and everything associated with AllofMP3.com, using threats of queering Russia’s pitch to become part of the WTO as a threat for failing to co-operate.

Now, “the United States and a group of key trading partners will launch negotiations on an Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA),” says a statement.

Must be from the US trade office, correct?

Nope. It’s a Hollywood hand-out.

The USTR, “along with the Congressional Caucus on Intellectual Property and Piracy Prevention, released an ‘objectives paper’ that will form the parameters of the negotiations,” says the puff piece.

“I commend the Administration, the Congressional Caucus on Intellectual Property and Piracy Prevention and the other partners in this initiative on their progress thus far, and I strongly encourage them to negotiate an agreement that realizes the ambition and promise of the objectives laid out today,” says Glickman.

That’ll make them feel all warm and fuzzy.

  1. Coconut Says:

By Allofmp3.com do they mean MP3Sparks? Yeah good job closing it down. You made them change their name. Commends Bush administration?????? This is so funny, every time the Bush Admin do something morally incorrect they are commended! Interfering with other countries for money only never because they actually want to help.
Every time American Forces are deployed it is with the thoughts of what the government can gain financially. At least Canada is always deployed to help!
