California steaming: Spears, paparazzi, Bush

p2pnet news | Music:- US President George W. Bush will today visit California, still being ravaged by an out-of-control bush fires.

And you know what that means.

Nothing.

Remember New Orleans?

Meanwhile, blogs covering the disaster are springing up as fast as new outbreaks and among them, the San Diego Union-Tribune has an official map of the fires. It shows in red areas actively burning in the last 24 hours, “which appear to be smaller than before,” it says, going oin:

“There doesn’t appear to be any change in the evacuation area borders, and no reopenings have been announced this morning.”

California Fire News, stressing it’s for, “casual public interest,” and “does *not* constitute an official warning system,” has a huge list of links, and, “San Diego fire Authorities lifted the evacuation notices for the communities of Hidden Meadows and Mountain Meadows at 6:15 p.m.,” says Twitter, adding tersely:

“Go home.”

Daily task of going to get coffee

In the news you’ve all been waiting for, “Residents have told reporters that while the blaze was destroying structures and forcing evacuations, the snappers were oblivious to the human suffering, and continued to chase Britney Spears around town while she performed her daily task of going to get coffee,” says the National Ledger.

“That infuriated some residents who were a bit more concerned for their families and their homes. Still the circus that surrounds the pop wreck stayed right on track as the former pop princess cruised all over town.”

And, “The horror of having to evacuate homes during Malibu’s biggest wildfire in recent history is not being helped by fallen pop star Britney Spears’ recent custody troubles,” says the New York Observer, adding:

“Basically, all the paparazzi are still out there trying to get their Britney shot,” said one resident of the beachy burg. “They don’t even care much about the burning houses.

He said there are five to ten lensmen around the clock. “It’s insane. Just as bad as it was before, only now there are burning trees.”

Will the paparazzi similarly be in force to log the arrival of George W.

Stay tuned …..

“Go home”. What a wonderful thing to tell Mr. Bush, who was probably only there to look at Bush fires.
