Obama Gospel Tour discord
p2pnet news | Music:- With Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s revelation that Hogwarts head and master wizard Albus Dumbledore is/was gay echoing in background comes news of a distinct lack of harmony within the Obama ranks.
It’s the singer, not the song, and it’s all to do with having your cake and eating it —- or trying to.
The discord centres on presidential wannabe Barack Obama’s so-called Gospel Tour which, says the Chicago Sun-Times, has gay rights workers seriously upset.
Obama told gay activists a gay minister will open weekend gospel concerts, “while a singer with an anti-gay reputation will remain on the bill”.
“I want to make sure that we are communicating the inclusive nature of this campaign, that I am continuing to reach out in the faith community,” he told the Chicago Sun-Times.
The “balancing act” followed the booking of gospel star Donnie McClurkin for Obama’s three-night Embrace the Change tour in South Carolina, aimed at African Americans, says the story.
But Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign, the gay rights organization, “urged Mr. Obama in a phone call yesterday” to cancel McClurkin’s appearance, says the New York Times, going on:
“Critics say that Mr. McClurkin counsels that homosexuality is a curse that can be cured through prayer, although in an interview with The Chicago Tribune, Mr. McClurkin said that his words had been misconstrued and that he had not crusaded against gay men and lesbians.”
“Mr. Obama is in a fierce struggle in South Carolina with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York for the support of black voters, who make up half the electorate in the Democratic primary,”says the story, adding:
“The state’s primary, scheduled for mid-January, could be crucial, coming after New Hampshire and Iowa and before several big states vote on Feb. 5.”

So,
A representative of a group that DEMANDS tolerance, while at the same time
shows intolerance of those that disagree with them ?
Sounds REAL familiar.
Maybe, just maybe, Mr Obama is trying to show that just because people
disagree idealogically does NOT mean they can’t work together harmoniously.
Maybe we finally ARE too far gone for that to be possible,
