" You have simply made a statement demanding proof of a negative, without
presenting any factual data. "

That sounds just like what the RIAA is doing in court.
If huh is a shill he was taught very well.

You have shown absolutely no proof that anyone here that decries RIAA crap
does, in fact download it.

 I don't.
I am not unique.

Dreddsnik, I'm a huge fan of Japanese music, usually coined "J-rock" or "J-pop" and I find solace in the music from across the Pacific. It may be hard for people who think music is all about words and not about the actual music to stomach since they won't know what all is being said without guidance, but for those who appreciate MUSIC for MUSIC rather than POETRY, it's well worth listening in on.

We've really lost it in mainstream music in America. Every song should carry a "Recycle" symbol, because that's what it is: recycled.

The following link illustrates a prime example of how, rather than bringing something new to the music scene in general, bands are simply cranking out music that sounds the same, over and over. It's a shocking thing when you hear how two totally different songs sound practically the same.

http://www.thewebshite.net/nickelback.htm

Popular Japanese music tends to be influenced by pop, eurobeat, rock, techno, trance, rap, and many other genres of music, often mixed together in ways quite unusual and new to the Western ear. It seems like, just as I get tired of my old J-pop songs, something else shows up that sounds totally different and refreshing. I've always liked the majority of works by m.o.v.e (electropica.com) because of their amazing combination of a traditional female voice, techno-rock background music, rapping, and an interestingly large use of mixed Japanese and English in their songs. They were my most significant introduction to mainstream Japanese music, and because of the way that Japan goes through idols like a giant monster that ate a chocolate laxative pie, there is so much J-pop out there that the supply is almost endless.

Other artists I have taken a liking to, in whole or in part, are: Mikuni Shimokawa (Give "Kanashimi ni nakenaide" a listen, it's also the Grenadier end theme), Utada Hikaru (who does a lot of English music as well, such as "Exodus 04" under the name Utada), Morning Musume (very popular but some songs are too weird or poppy for me), SweetS, Key-A-Kiss (hard to find, ask if you want samples since you'll never find a torrent of any of it), Hinoi Team, Every Little Thing (affectionately called ELT by fans), dream (look for "Moving On" or "Identity -prologue-"), BoA ("VALENTI" is her most popular song, though "Kimochi wa tsutawaru" or "Listen to my Heart" are good ones to start out with), Ayumi Hamasaki (my favorites are "Ladies Night" and "Surreal," and the eurobeat versions "Monochrome (ayu-ro extended mix)" and "Audience (Euro-Power Mix)"), and the almost nonexistent artist "Reica" that did the music for the Pia Carrot e Youkoso anime movie.

I've pretty much stopped listening to American songs, excluding the more revolutionary older music and unique groups such as System of a Down whose sound is distinctly different and interesting.

If you want more info, you can reach me in private by mailing cryptik -at- s153718171.onlinehome.us and throwing "Japanese music" or similar in the subject, and I'll gladly help out.

Natsufuku ga ii no desu, kawaii! :) :) hahahaha

" Unlike that other Reader’s Write, you seem to be determined to cause trouble here by posting more independent links. Please stop this at once. "

Since Money Lover doesn't own this site, and I don't see Jon objecting ....

Please continue to direct us to non-riaa music that we may enjoy.
If you have your own site that has links to such acts, post it here.
You may have a lot of interested traffic.

One more thing ....

Money Lover is a troll .. stop feeding him ( but keep those links coming. )
How to tell ?
Bald propoganda statements without any factual backing.
Obvious over the top baiting ... etc.

"Suck it up and get over it."

The RIAA members have brought us our wonderful musical cultural heritage over the last 50 years or so. They will do so for the next 50 and no disaffected losers are gonna change that. *You* get over it.

"You’re not a music lover. You’re an idiot."

Are you of low intelligence, perhaps?

p2pnet seems to have some comment posting glitches...

Hey "Music Lover:"

Suck it up and get over it.

Morning Musume, BoA, ELT (Every Little Thing), and Ayumi Hamasaki are well-known and info on all of them is easily found at http://wiki.theppn.org/avex_trax along with many, many other non-RIAA labelled music groups.

Hint: they're all Japanese groups; the only label they could really be under is Sony, and out of all the things I listen to, Sony runs almost none of it.

I love Japanese music because it has the wild variation and diversity that has been lost in American music. The cliche pop styles almost don't exist, and when they do, they often have a distinct difference from the Britney Spears/Backstreet Boys/Justin Timberlake recycled sounds you hear on the radio daily. m.o.v.e (also seen at http://wiki.theppn.org/m.o.v.e ) may be the best group to introduce rock/techno lovers to Japanese music, as they use English heavily mixed with the Japanese in their music and it can sound both familiar and nice shiny brand spankin' new at the same time.

The RIAA...... bullshit...they have done nothing but screw over artist since they have been established. I for one could care less if they lose their jobs...their posh living styles their limo's...etc. I for one wish I could find a job where I don't have to do a damn thing...and earn millions upon millions and then sue anyone who I feel like.
I have been buying music for at least 40 years now... I bought albums....8 tracks cassettes and I started buying cd's..... What a load of crap.... Overpriced bull shit... and yes I will download all I can.... Most of it....I hear about 10 seconds of and hit delete..... All sounds the same anymore and I have yet to hear anything that I would consider paying the amounts that they charge. I say let the artists pander their own garbage and if it gets sold then they get 100% of the profits not some corp. idiot that doesn't do a thing to earn it.... Let them get real jobs and break a sweat.

To all the crybabies arguing about guilt over downloading recording industry music:

Not everyone is into music that comes exclusively from the Big 4, you know. avex group, anyone?

Here's one that I love that isn't under the thumb of Big 4:

" Don’t ever forget: every download is a lost sale. "

Don't ever forget ..
A download NEVER = a lost sale.
Never has, never will.

Anyone who says otherwise is misinformed, or a liar.

" You are gagging for the product you call “crap”. "

As an easy comparison of the top downloads vs top sellers, one will see that
If they like it, they buy it. Easy to look up.

top downloads are almost always top sellers as well. this supports
this statement ...

" When it’s crap it goes in the trash where it belongs, when it’s good it gets purchased, "

There is no proof whatsoever that a download = a lost sale.

That's because it's just .. not .. true.

There are very few that are stupid enough to believe the RIAA company line anymore.

No guilt here, dumbass. When it's crap it goes in the trash where it belongs, when it's good it gets purchased, just not through outdated 20th century retail means. You just don't get it.

lol you guys are fun. It's "Let's download all this music for free!" and then it's "This music all sucks" at the same time. Well, which is it? You want the "product" but then you want to act like the product's no good. I think you feel guilty for the downloading and so you strike out against the very music you wanted so desperately to download.
