Bye, OiNK — Hi, BoINK!

p2pnet news | Music:- Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s efforts to permanently boink OiNK have failed.
Instead, there’s an appropriately named OiNK replacement on the way to, “bring the hundreds of thousands of music albums back online that disappeared during the raid,” says Torrentfreak.
Who’s behind it?
The new owners of IFPI.com, the site formerly operated by the Big 4’s IFPI (International Federation of Phonographic Industry).
In other words, Sweden’s The Pirate Bay, the bane of the entertainment cartels.
BOiNK.cd will be back within a week, although it’ll be a little different from OiNK V.1, according to Torrentfreak’s Ernesto.
“For instance, the tracker will be public and it will start out with a lot less torrents than OiNK had when it was raided,” ihe says, gooing on:
“The success of BOiNK will mainly depend on the former OiNK community, who will be asked to upload their old OiNK torrents.
“The most important thing about BOiNK is perhaps the message it sends out to the IFPI and the BPI: It shows that that if you stop one tracker, others will pop up days after.
“It is a hydra. Call it a slap in the face if you want.”
Adds the story:
“People from the Pirate Bay, Mininova, TorrentFreak and even the recently arrested (and released) OiNK admin are currently at The Oil of the 21st Century conference where they are – among other things – discussing filesharing, culture and copyright related issues.
“OiNK is a Pirate Bay only project, OiNK and other BitTorrent sites are not involved.”
Meanwhile, if you see something purporting to be OiNK, it ain’t. It’ll probably be a scam site, so until BoINK Mk I comes along, steer clear, advises Ernesto.
Definitely stay tuned.

The first Oink should be BOink, right? It’ll be great to beable to get some of the hard to find music that was on Oink but I have a feeling it wont be the same. I still have hopes that when it is said and down the servers will be given back and everything up running again just like The Pirate Bay was.

This is retarded, everyone knows that public trackers are wack, everyone is inconsiderate and just downloads without seeding, this will just be another slow downloading public site, why not just build up a already known public tracker?
