But it’s apparently been running wild since then. And not in a good way.
This’ll seriously upset his Jobness whose iPhone DRM barriers are crumbling left, right and centre.
It’s just one thing after another. Sigh.
OSX86Scene was apparently behind the hack and among the many and various posts on the subject is one on Daily Apps which gives a chapter-and-verse, blow-by-blow breakdown of precisely what to do, and how to do it, if you want to run Leopard on your PC.
Says the post:
Please note the tutorial that I am going to post is still experimental and things might not work the right way simply because it is still early days in hacking Leopard to work on PCs. Well if you don’t mind your PC getting screwed then go ahead and try out this tutorial.
Make sure you backup all important data before you proceed.
And at the end, the posts repeats:
Please note this has not been extensively tested, so most of your Hardware like Sound, Network may not work. If something goes wrong for you or you want to help us, then please join the discussion over at OSX86Scene. If you noticed I haven’t posted the links to the Torrent that contains the DVD image and the zip. Well I haven’t posted them because I am sure the lawyers over at Apple are going to sue the hell out of me.

a bit risky and very limiting as if you run the update application(connect to internet) the hardware components report there names to apple(for the purpose of checking for updated drivers) and they will notice that non apple id components are being reported. (if they so choose)
It’s also in the license agreement that you will not install it on non apple pc’s. though users who do install this are more likely to replace there pc with a mac when they upgrade.
basically if you want the features of leopard buy it otherwise install Linux most of the features can be installed on top of this. such as spotlight and dock.

All i can say is, any company so heavy on locking its users in like Apple, deserves to die.. seriously..
just watch them trying to create a operator monopoly for its Iphone here in Europe… man its like a tick that wont die.. Iphone will be banned in several countries unless Apple stops the nonsence monopoly ideas..
Its like selling a tv locked to one channel provider, unheard of tbh.. not to mention a ton of competition issues.. so yea im a Apple hater, sue me..
on other issues, its great people would be able to use a standard hardware ground for their operating systems now, more competition, more freedom in the choice of operating system and softwares, also freedom in hardware choices..
Now you dont have to buy special overpriced hardware

Macs are just as vulnerable as Windows.
Its an urban legend that iSteve iJobs made up to increase sales.
If hackers decided to go after Apple’s stuff they will be in the same boat as Windows.
The same is true for Linux, Unix and any other OS.
With the millions of lines of code there will be some sort of mistake made which is all the hackers out there need to get in.
Buy what you need/afford, and get a good AV (like Kaspersky for Windows, Norton just doesn’t work any more)

So, is that mean the successful rate of hacking OS X is increasing?
Same hardware but software only.
