Copyrighting Tarzan’s yell

p2pnet news | Music:- AAAAAAeeeeeeaaaaaEEEEEaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Or something like that.
It’s Tarzan’s yodel.
They’d like to be able to copyright it but apparently, they’re having a little trouble, “because it is almost impossible to represent graphically.,” says Out-Law.com.
“Sounds can be registered as trade marks, but the ruling could limit that to sounds that can be written in standard musical notation,” it says.
The attempt to lock up Tarzan’s yodel was made by Edgar Rice Burroughs Incorporated, says the story, adding:
“The Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM) refused the application on appeal.
“The application had included two pictures said to represent the sound of Tarzan’s call, one an image of a wave form representation of the sound, the other a spectrogram of the frequencies of the yell.”

The Tarzan property is guarded fiercely. By threat of lawsuit they forced Taito to change the content and title of their 1982 video game Jungle King. Ironically, the same year saw the release of Atari 2600’s Pitfall, which features a Tarzan-like yell by its protagonist. Nothing seems to have been done about that.

And me I just copyrighted the worlds extortion, thievery, larceny, fraud, kidnaping, assasination, arson, killing, shiting, lying, slandering, bombing, poisoning.
Now I am going to do all of these to the RIAA/MPAA parasites and nobody will be able to go after me legally because they would infringe my copyright in the process. Thank you DMCA!
