Boy admits starting California fire

p2pnet news | Off Topic:- An unidentified boy says he started one of the fires which have been devastating southern California.

This particular blaze swept across 38,300 acres in the Santa Clarita Valley, destroyed 15 homes and injured three people, says the Los Angeles Daily News.

Officials waited a week to release the news because they needed to conclude their investigation, says the story.

Sheriff’s deputy Oscar Butao is quoted as saying the boy was questioned and released to his parents a day after the fire started October 21.

“The case has been presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for formal charges,” adds the Los Angeles Daily News.

The blaze, started by the boy when he was playing with matches, is estimated to have cost $7.4 million.
