Sasquatch sighting in Pennsylvania

p2pnet news | Off Topic:- If you live in our part of the world, that’s to say British Columbia in Canada, you’ll be familiar with Sasquatch, or Bigfoot, as the oft reported but rarely seen denizen of the forests and mountains is sometimes called.

But BC isn’t the only place these large, hairy primates are spotted. Across the border in Pennsylvania, for instance, Rick Jacobs says he has a video of what’s either a “mangy bear” or Sasquatch.

That’s a clip on the right, and another below.

“From the words I said to IHT pressmen everybody knows that I have pictures of what I suppose a bigfoot from the Allegheny national forest,” says Jacobs on his blog, going on:

“But the thing is, they didn’t realize that the pictures are actually frames of a video I was taking in hope to capture a deer.

“Now I have finally uploaded the complete 2-munute footage and imposed few elucidating comments. I feel obliged to share the astonishing video with you, my friends.

“Take a look and decide yourself, whether it is sasquatch or mangy bear. Or something else.

Hope you will like it.”

Very cool, Rick :)

UPDATE & WARNING @ 11:48 am PST, November 1

I’m now deleted the link to the site. It apparently linked to an ActiveX=Virus.

I’ve just done a search and I don’t seen references to this which doesn’t, of course, mean it isn’t happening.

My apologies to anyone who’s been bothered. Obviously, if I’d suspected there was anything untoward, I wouldn’t have included the link.

For anyone who still wants to check this out, the site is easy to find, but you go there at your own risk.

The first picture on top looks like he’s bent over trying to suck his own dick.

    Dam perverted sasquatches :)

  4. Zorg Says:

Hmm, upon downloading the “required ActiveX controller”, Norman AV immediately moves the exe file to quarantine; ZLOB trojan.

  5. Reader's Write Says:

ehh that looks like a bear

  6. Monkey D. Luffy Says:

ActiveX=Virus, Jon, I know other people are handling web page management, but you still gotta watch for that shit. This story should probably be deleted if people can get viruses from watching the video.

  7. Jim Says:

The video link installs SmitFraud and Zlob and I haven’t been able to completely get rid of them yet!

  8. trswartz Says:

My virus protection also notified me that the ActiveX exe contained “downloader.zlob” The description of this trojan is: Trojan-Downloader.Zlob.Media-Codec is a program that typically purports to be a needed upgrade to Windows Media Player in order to view adult oriented videos on certain websites. However, Trojan-Downloader.Zlob.Media-Codec actually downloads and installs additional malware on the user’s machine. Trojan-Downloader.Zlob.Media-Codec often silently downloads and installs rogue security programs such as SpywareQuake, SpyFalcon and WinAntivirusPro, but may install other malware as well. Some variants of Trojan-Downloader.Zlob.Media-Codec have backdoor functionality, giving a remote attacker the ability to control and use the infected machine for malicious purposes.

  9. Jon Says:

I’ve deleted the link to the story, as I say above.

I apologise to anyone who’s been affected and as I say, obviously, if I’d suspected there was any kind of problem, I wouldn’t have included the link.

  10. tindalos Says:

yeh - i had to sys restore after that lame active-x
exploit - i’d introduce that clown to my louisville slugger
    if i could find him…

  11. Tom Blakes Says:

Actually, guys, the video is clear. And very moving by the way!

Many people have problems with it because most of common antiviruses have a bug against ActiveX add-ons. They mistake it for a virus trying to get access to your browser. And after that they behave like infected with Zlob or other trojan. Try using NOD32. It’s the best AV!

Certainly, I’d advice Rick to recode the footage into flash. But he’s only a hunter after all! So let’s just thank him and enjoy the video

  12. Jim again Says:

Maybe you saw the video before it was compromised, or maybe it’s since been fixed, it was *NOT* a false virus detection! After I stupidly loaded the ActiveX control, it played a porn video, not a bigfoot video, *and* my browser gained a toolbar spoofing a virus detector, *and* some other process got started which kept tampering with my desktop! I’ve managed to get the viruses quarantined but *not* removed only by repeatedly running multiple virus scanners in both safe mode and normal mode. It ruined my afternoon.

  13. Aramis Says:

Stick it on YouTube, Jon. The process is easy.

  14. Kent McManigal Says:

That virus has completely taken over my computer. It even changed my background. Norton can’t seem to find it. If anyone knows how I can rid my computer of it, please email me at dullhawk@hotmail.com. I am on a different computer until I can get it fixed. HELP!!

  15. Reader's Write Says:

Kent McManigal: that’s not a trojan definitely, and you picked it at some other place: trojans never behave like that. Just scan your hard drive with freshly updated NOD32 from another pc

  16. bigcitylib Says:

Its Ucleaner, a really nasty bit of malware. It tells you about all the illegal porn you allegedly have on your computer and then redirects you (aggressively) to a site where they try and sell you the “universal cleaner”..every time you open your browser! Nasty nasty stuff, which I have been unable to remove from my laptop. AND it DOES change your desktop if you don’t buy the Ucleaner the first couple of times.

Anyone finds an easy way to get rid of this, please let me know. May Mr. Jacobs burn in hell.

  17. f66939 Says:

I started a tread on Spyware Warrior titled Desktophijack. This thing is nasty it just deleted a post I tried to post here. Hope this one gets through

  18. G W Ramsden Says:

Many people will not accept the possibility that a north american primate still exists.. I know they do..I have seen one ! And I am studying some very interesting evidence in northern Ontario

  19. Annonymous Says:

I worked as an RCMP officer in British Columbia from 1973-1978. On July 17, 1976 we had a very terrible incident that I still can’t explain. About 10:30PM we had a group of teenagers (between the ages of 16-18) arrived at our stationhouse. They claimed that they were attacked by something in the forest. One of their group was left behind at their camping site he was hurt, but could not be moved. They claimed that they were attacked by something wild in the area. We assumed it might be a bear or a mountain lion. They assured us it was not. We notified the local park rangers and met them on the scene about an hour or so later. When we arrived at the campsite everything was in disarray. We were never able to locate the missing teen or any indication of a bear of Lion. But we did find later footprints around the camp. (And no it was nothing like these silly oversized “human” looking footprints that everyone tries to call the bigfoot.) They were genuine wild animal tracks although we don’t know what it was to this day. We had a zoologist measure the tracks and it was concluded that movement patterns were not fabricated.

Assuming it to be a prank of sorts we questioned the teens further through the next few days. I have always felt that they were telling the truth. Their descriptions did not in anyway represent a bear or any other wild creature that I have seen in my years in that area.

Several days later one of the rangers I had initally journeyed to the campsite with, claimed to have had a sighting that matched the description the teens gave. Which was very odd considering he was not present for any of the questioning and would not have had access to that information.

There have been many sightings of such a creature in our area over the years. I believe something exists although I really don’t know what it is.

The incident is currently in RCMP records and is filed as an unsolved crime, July 17, 1976. We never recovered the body of the young man and no charges were pressed.
