The (really) Great Escape!
p2pnet news | Off Topic:- A 17-year-old German woman, aided by her 19-year-old friend, are both on the run after the latter helped the former escape from jail in a daring break-out.
“Authorities in the northwest part of the country say the girl walked out of the youth facility carrying a large suitcase,” says City News, going on:
What the guards didn’t know was that it didn’t contain her clothes or books. Instead, her pal was packed away inside, and she zipped up the zippers and calmly lugged the luggage out of the building.
Says Deutsche Welle:
The guards, none of whom may have been too bright, failed to follow up suspicions after the released girl left the correctional facility with a suitcase which the officials found to be ‘particularly heavy.’ The girl was allowed to leave the center with the suitcase, which contained her Prison Break co-star, without the luggage being searched.
In addition to that embarrassing oversight, the fact that the other young woman was missing was only noticed several hours later during the routine evening check of cells at the center.
What’s almost as surprising is the escapee only had two weeks to serve.
