p2pnet down. CRIA?
p2pnet news | Off Topic:- “Hey Jon! Did the CRIA finally get ya?”
CRIA is short for the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association of America) and the question came in this morning’s batch of emails.
It’s referring to the fact p2pnet was down for five or six hours last night and early this morning.
I’m sure the Big 4 would love to see p2pnet vanish into the sunset, but I very much doubt if they’d ever bother about actively trying to shut me down
So Nope, it wasn’t them. We were offline because of an as yet unidentified technical problem.
Cheers! And thanks …
Jon

Don’t flatter yourself. To them, you’re but a flea

Ah, but he’s a flea that the Big 4 certainly wouldn’t mind getting rid of. And even if they get rid of this flea, we all know that there’ll be six more fleas up and running.

Fleas tend to itch, no matter how small. What makes them really annoying however is that they tend to breed more fleas, and those fleas tend to itch and then… well you get the picture.
Keep itching Jon,
Liam

“Don’t flatter yourself. To them, you’re but a flea”
Ya ya yaaa!
You know the saying: First they ignore you then they make fun of you then they fight you and then they lost.
We are now at the end of the stage: “they make fun of you.”

Jon, you just WISH that CRIA or some other anti-P2P organization would shut you down. Don’t flatter yourself.

We may all individually be small, but when you add Jon, Michael Geist, myself, and a growing number of musicians and music fans all ban together then this seriously threatens the existance of the legacy recording industry.
BTW: A CBC show called Search Engine is doing a story on this, and it sounds like I might be included in the next episode essentially saying that, “If CRIA went out of business, and the Canadian music industry was reclaimed by Canadian composers, performers, and music fans, we would all be better for it.”

None of you are “threatening” “the existance of the legacy recording industry.”. Do you think the RIAA or MPAA gives a shit about you? All you guys do is run biased internet news sites.

We are all part of a large group of people (growing larger every day) that is spreading the word about the true nature of the entrenched music industy and advising people to avoid it at all costs. Today we are seeing the industry profits dwindling–they’re nearing the end of their rope, which means the public has been listening. Remember this all started back when there were not so many members to this group. p2pnet is a founding member. It’s not so insignificant as some of you are claiming it to be.
Good work, Jon! Keep it up!
