p2pnet news | Games:- After what may well have been ferocious behind-the-scenes lobbying, the Singapore ban on the Xbox 360 game Mass Effect has been lifted.

The news comes, “barely a week after a decision was made to keep it from the shelves.,” says the Straits Times, going on:

“The role-playing game will now be sold with an M18 label - the first time a console or computer game has been given a rating here.”

Mass Effect, to be launched on November 20, it, contains “lesbian intimacy” between a woman and female alien with the offending scene of kissing and heavy petting ending with a female alien saying, “By the gods, that was incredible, commander”.

Or as joystiq reports it:

“Close your eyes and relax, Commander,” utters the blue-skinned humanoid as she brushes her fingertips against Ms. Shepard’s cheek. Of course, your eyes are wide open as you hunch down in your chair and angle the monitor away from your coworker’s potential gaze, curious to see how this issue of ‘lesbian alien sex’ plays out in BioWare’s Mass Effect.”

Yes. Well ….
