The Shopocalypse is coming !!!

p2pnet news | Movies:- The clip on the right is from the New York Times story which kicks off with:
“Rob VanAlkemade’s fast and funny documentary ‘What Would Jesus Buy?’ the answer to the question posed by the title is simple: whatever gadget of the moment their spoiled-rotten kids are craving.”
Because Yea! ‘Tis (almost) the Season!
The one that’s supposed to celebrate the birth of Jesus but which in fact is a hardcore sales season, and the most important one in the year for many companies.
What Would Jesus Buy? is a crusade against consumerism starring Bill Talen aka the Reverend Billy’s (Talen) whose mission is to fight thisthe “shopocalypse,” the, “buying frenzy Americans indulge in every holiday season,” says the NYT.
Not just Americans, either.
“The film takes us on a 2005 cross-country tour with Reverend Billy; Savitri D, his wife and organizer of his Church of Stop Shopping; and the church`s gospel choir. Along the way they deliver their message – that peace and love, not spending, are the true backbone of holiday spirit – through witty speeches and songs to unsuspecting patrons at assorted problem spots like Wal-Mart, the Mall of America and Disneyland,” says the story.
The film was produced by Morgan Spurlock, “who brought his own guerrilla message in Super Size Me,” says hollywoodjesus.com.
“Like the earlier film, WWJB? is a combination of the gimmick (the Church’s road trip and provocative actions) and commentary on societyâincluding discussions about credit, Wal-Mart, and hearing how vacuous consumers sound when they talk about the things they buy.”
“The street theater by Rev. Billy and his church pulls us in to be entertained, but then there is a shift to talk about the assumptions and practices that underlie our consumerism. We may hear people say incredibly stupid thoughts, but we recognize that there is a bit of them in all of us. We are part and parcel of the materialistic society that is lampooned in WWJB?”
Oh! The Heresy!
How does that song go?
“I don’t care if it rains or freezes, long as I got my plastic Jesus sriding on the dashboard of my car ….”

Christmas is just a pagan holiday which happens to account for over half of the retail purchases made during the year.
This pagan holiday has very little to do with the Biblical Messiah (who was very likely born around the first day of the Feast of Succote (Tabernacles) spoken about in Leviticus 23:4. Don’t belive me, but check it out in any decent encyclopedia, and it will give you the facts ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas ). There is little wonder why so many children of Christians are turned away from their faith.
The only sign of the authenticity of Messiah is the sign of Jonah. He had to spend THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS dead in the grave before rising. The myth of the “Good Friday” death and Easter Sunday resurrection perverts this one and only sign of His authenticity. The Messiah died late afternoon before sunset on a Wednesday and was resurrected late Saturday before sunset. He died on Passover which is a preparation day for the Days of Unleavens (the first of which is a high Sabbath), and He was resurrected late on the weekly Sabbath (Saturday – before sunset).
I am not writing this to destroy Christian faith, but rather to edify belief in the Bible. The Messiah would not buy anything for the purposes of celebrating this holiday. He would instead admonish people to keep the Biblical Holy days that are explained in the Bible.
