Online holiday shopping season

p2pnet news | Advertising:- It’s official.

There’s an online holiday shopping season.

And it’s kicked off.

Associated Press says so.

“Online holiday shopping season kicks off,” said AP headline repeated by CTV, The State and Sharewatch, among others, with the Ap copyy also being run verbatim by numerous mainstream media outlets.

“Retailers are hoping last week’s strong start to the holiday shopping season at malls and stores translates into a busy buying season online, which officially begins Monday,” says AP.

That’s today, folks.

“The Monday after Thanksgiving, tagged ‘Cyber Monday’ by the National Retail Federation, marks the first big online shopping surge for many merchants as consumers return to their work computers.”

Retailers, a “number” of them are, “hosting” one-day sales or special offers for the occasion, says AP, adding:

“Internet research firm comScore Inc. estimated online sales may exceed $700 million online on Monday.”
