CBS OKs The Pirate Bay

p2pnet news | Music:- “Last.fm, the music recommendation site owned by US media conglomerate CBS, has today given Pirate Bay the thumbs up to use its servers to add radio streams to BitTorrent searches.”

So says The Register, going on:

“The Swedish anti-copyright site has added a Last.fm widget to results pages as part of a new drop-down of extra information on artists .

“A spokesman for London-based Last.fm told The Reg that while it would not seek to endorse Pirate Bay, it has no control over who uses its API.”

Says the TPB blog:

Today we released the first update to the music section we’ve been talking about.

It’s still a beta, but we think it’s useful enough now! When you go to a torrent containing a music torrent and we can figure out the artist name it will contain an extra link just below the description box. This link will give you the name of the artist, an image, a list of albums (and linked if we can find them on the site), and the best part of all – their upcoming live events!

We’re going to add a new section for music search but we’re not quite done with that. But we will post a new entry when it’s out :)

Please report bugs and/or ideas to the forum.

(Thanks, Liam)
