New BPI anti-piracy boss
p2pnet.net News:- Could it be the BPI (British Phonographic Industry), Big Music’s UK enforcement and marketing organization, isn’t performing as well as it might?
BPI chairman Peter Jamieson has announced a restructuring of the organization to “better focus its services to members and its advocacy on behalf of the industry,” says a puff piece.
“Key to the new structure are two new appointments focused on the BPI’s key roles – the promotion and protection of the UK record industry’s interests.”
The most interesting of the two appointments is the BPI’s new general counsel, Geoff Taylor.
He’s currently deputy general counsel and director of litigation and regulatory affairs over at the IFPI International Phonogram Producers Federation) but after June 7 will handle all BPI legal issues, as well as taking responsibility for the BPI’s ‘anti-piracy’ activities.
The other ‘appointment’ has communications and development Steve Redmond, “who has worked with Jamieson helping devise strategy for the new BPI over the past 18 months,” being hired full time.
“The record industry is embarked on its most dramatic transition since the dawn of the CD age,” observes Jamieson.

Thats right. After extensive ultra-sound scanning we have identified several cases where a fetus may/may not, or has the opportunity to distribute copyrighted material. While there is no direct proof of actual dissemination of said material, that hasn’t stopped us before. We feel very confident in our ability to grease the right palms and begin litigating these criminals asap.
Citizens of the world can rest assured that we will be picking their pockets from the womb to the grave…or as long as we can continue to buy politicians and sway consensus with double-speak and lies.
