Britney Spears is reportedly thinking about accepting a role in new film.

She’s, “considering playing the VIRGIN MARY in a retelling of the Nativity Story!” - says appropriately named website Holy Moly.

“You couldn’t make it up (although considering the recent pregnancy ’story’ someone probably did make it up),” it says, going on:

“It’s either a rare display of irony from an American or Spears has mulled over the parallels in her life with Mary: banned from hotels, dubious conception activity, hounded by men wanting to get the exclusive on her child, shaved heads …”

The title? Sweet Baby Jesus, says Holy Moly, wondering, “Would Justin Timberlake play Joseph? Who would be Herod, the Three Wise Men the Inn Keeper or the donkey?”

Says The Sun:

Britney would play pregnant 19-year-old Mary who, unsure of the baby’s paternity, goes into labour on Christmas Eve in Bethlehem, Maryland, amid rumours of a second coming.

French Producer PHILLIPPE REBBOAH confirmed that Britney was currently considering the script.

“I had to convince my partners, because they were like, ‘Oh, no. Britney?’” said Rebboah. “But I thought it was brilliant.”

A recent publicity pic with Spears sitting on a fake Catholic priest’s lap caused a storm.

It’ll be interesting to see the kind of reactions this news brings
