Penthouse gets into social networking

p2pnet news | P2P:- Social networking is about to take on a new meaning.
Penthouse, the rude nude magazine which took the Playboy concept several revealing stages further, is buying Various Inc.
Says Hoovers, Various is an online social networking company that hosts FriendFinder.com, “a site through which people can connect with others via the Internet in order to form personal relationships,” going on:
“Various operates 25 multicultural and multilingual dating and social networking sites, including the FriendFinder network, with more than 100 million registered members.”
Now, “While the influx of free and low-cost video has hurt the sale of pornographic videos,” Marc H. Bell, CEO of Penthouse Media, “remains so bullish on the sex-related entertainment industry that he is investing $500 million” in Various, says the New York Times.
Bell says the idea is to provide “consumers,” particularly, “18-to-34-year-old men,” with a wide variety of sex-related offerings in magazines, in videos and online.
After all, “it’s an online world,” Bell observes in the story.
