More Apple Quicktime holes

p2pnet news | Security:- Ooops. More Apple QuickTime security problems.

But don’t worry, says Apple. Again. They’ve been fixed. Again.

Included, says Computerworld, is a, “three-week-old streaming media vulnerability for which exploit code has been in circulation since the end of November”.

Last month Apple QuickTime released fixes for least seven major security vulnerabilities in earlier versions of QuickTime for Mac, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

This time around, “Unveiled Thursday afternoon, QuickTime 7.3.1 patches problems in how the program handles three types of media content,” says the story.

“The most anticipated fix, however, plugged the Real-Time Streaming Protocol hole first disclosed Nov. 23 by Polish researcher Krystian Kloskowski.”

One Response to “More Apple Quicktime holes”

  1. Reader's Write Says:

Just another reason to dump QuickTime and use VLC. It’s a slow, security-hole ridden piece of shit that tries to take over your PC.

Also, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I thought all Apple products “just work” and are free of security flaws?
