RIAA ‘expert’ Doug Jacobson’s ‘new’ evidence

p2pnet news | RIAA News:- It’s like this with the entertainment cartels, movies or music.

To use the vernacular, they don’t give a rat’s ass about their customers, public opinion, the law, or anything else.

In the RIAA’s case, it’s been foisting supposed tech expert Doug Jacobson on courts hearing specious RIAA sue ‘em all cases even though the voracity of Jacobson’s evidence has been proven to be highly questionable, to be charitable about it.

But never mind. He’s an RIAA guy and it doesn’t matter how much ‘junk science’ he spouts.

It’s good enough for the courts who are not, again to be charitable, exactly knowledgeable about the Internet, file sharing or anything to do with either.

For the most part they seem to rely on the RIAA to tell them which way is up.

Marie Lindor (right) is an elderly Brooklyn lady Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) accused of being a massive online distributor of copyrighted music.

They knew she wasn’t, of course. But then, she was never the real target.

Her son, Woody Ramond, was.

As Patti Santangelo and other American mothers know only too well, it’s standard operating procedure for the big four to harass and humiliate the parents —- in particular, the mothers —- of youngsters they eventually plan to go after.

Bottom line, the mainstream media are used by the unimaginably wealthy Big 4 labels, Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG, as press release outlets to falsely claim their own customers are “devastating” them.

Now, posts Recording Industry vs The People, the RIAA is trying to pass off a new “supplemental” report by Jacobson which contains supposedly new material.

RIvTP’s Ray Beckerman has already shredded Jacobson’s earlier evidence and this new material isn’t referred to by Jacobson, “in his prior reports, his prior declaration, or his deposition testimony, in support of their request for a telephone conference,” says Beckerman, who’s representing Mrs Lindor.

“Attorneys for Ms. Lindor’s son, who is targeted by the RIAA’s letter, and for defendant, both opposed the application, and defendant moved to strike the report for failure to comply with the Federal Rules, and to mandate in-person, as opposed to telephone, conferences for plaintiffs’ Denver, Colorado, attorneys,” says the post.

Definitely stay tuned.

The RIAA is wasting what remain of their fund in this futile not to say criminal exercise of corruption and abuse of our laws. Weither they win or lose they will have to pay all the legal fee and more. If they lose they lose and they have to support all the cost. If they win this is simple the victime declare BK chapter 7 the RIAA get zip and they still have to foot all the legal fee. If they don’t then the RIAA lawer have better to lose overwise they will not be pay!

If you lose go BK chapter 7 with a good BK lawer! Tha’t all you have to do.

I remain in hope that if the RIAA continues with their scandalous campaign, that eventually consumer backlash will prevail, and people will realise what stupid a$$holes they are and stop buying their stuff.

I only buy a maximum of a couple of CDs/DVDs per year (not even that if there’s nothing good around, although I buy from Amazon marketplace when I can to make sure the RIAA doesn’t get a penny) not only as a form of protest, but also because I’m firmly in the digital age as I don’t own a CD player apart from my computer drive and simply have no need for CDs any more.

The sooner these money-crazed idiots realise the potential of volume of sales and try to trust their customers a little bit, the better.

Oh, and $teve, stop trying to pretend that $10 is a fair price for an album involving no physical product. You’re not convincing me.
