Zultrax: new, free P2P file sharing

p2pnet news | P2P:- There’s a new P2P file sharing application online.
No, it’s not yet another trashy attempt by Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG to pass off one of the formally independent sites they’ve crushed, swallowed and regurgitated as genuine.
It’s Zultrax P2P, it’s free - including free of advertisements - and it’s made in Holland with the concepts of swarming and privacy protection as key elements.
But there is a bad.
At this point in time, it supports ZEPP and Gnutella, but only under Microsoft Windows,
p2pnet asked the Zultrax developer,Peter Bartholomeus if the company has any plans to make Apple and/or Linux versions.
No to Apple, but Yes to Linux, he said, going on:
“We would love to have a Linux version. In the past the needed effort, costs and skills where a too big obstacle.”
But don’t expect a Zultrax for Linux before the end of 2008, ” and even that is far from sure yet”.
Meanwhile, “You can download and use Zultrax for free. With Zultrax P2P you can share any kind of files with millions of users around the world and download files shared by others. Zultrax makes file sharing fast, easy and secure,” says the company.
Will Zultrax ever be ‘ad supported? - p2pnet wondered.
No, says Bartholomeus, continuing:
“The program is free and will stay free and will never include adds, bonus downloads, etcetera.”
How will Zultrax support the app?
“We make our money getting paid by users who appreciate the free version that much that they order the pro version even with the free version being complete and without much restrictions,” states Bartholomeus, adding:
“This business model feels better than getting paid for showing banners of on-line casino’s, dating sites and phone companies. We make enough this way to fund a small team that works on the software and have no reason to believe that will change in the near future.
“From the feedback we get from our users we understand that being free of anything that smells like adware or spyware, is greatly appreciated.”

works better then before. The UI still seems kind of wierdly layed out though, could be the fact that I’m blind and using a screenreader, heh.
