Google bans ‘too sexy’ ads

p2pnet news | Advertising:- "The ad has been disapproved for adult content. Only family safe images will be approved. Images which are classified as non-family safe or adult content are disapproved and will not run. Your image contains nudity and mature themes."
That’s Do No Evil user privacy buster Google.
It links to all manner of kinks and porn, but it’s now added Judge of Moral Standards to its list of services. And that’s more than a little ironic given that it’s been accused, "of an infamy often disingenuously levelled at P2P file sharing applications by the vested interest corporate entertainment industry," as p2pnet posted recently, going on:
"So what is this horror?
"Exposing children to online porn."
Now it says Pampered Passions, a US lingerie firm, is "too sexy" for UK and European markets, banning company AdWords contextual, or AdSense, display ads which were part of a campaign, "inviting men to buy sexy lingerie for their girlfriends this Xmas," says Pampered Passions, going on:
"The suggestive tone and the mild nudity in the images, though, proved too much for Google who refused to allow the ads to be shown on their network.
Google, "insisted on upholding stringent, often prudish guidelines that may seem sensible in the USA but come across as laughable here," says PP.
