Microsoft offers free XBLA game!

p2pnet news | Product News:- Is Microsoft Xbox Live dead? – thousands of Microsoft Xbox users were asking themselves over the Christmas holiday.
“You may have noticed that the LIVE service has been having a few issues over the past few days,” blogged community guy Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb.
He went on:
This includes things like signing in, matchmaking and account recovery. Not everyone has had problems, but I know some of you have and I wanted to give you and update. While the service was never completely offline, problems like this are not acceptable. The entire LIVE team has been working day and night to ensure that you can have a great LIVE experience. While we’re not done yet, I wanted to let you know that things are getting better each hour and that no one on the team is going anywhere until the job is done.
Meanwhile, “The downtime Xbox Live has suffered since Christmas has really pissed holiday gamers off,” observes Kotaku, going on:
“Occassional dropouts here and there are understandable, but nearly two weeks of severe issues? That’s tested a lot of people’s patience with a service they’ve paid good money for.”
But Bill and the Boyz know which side of their bread is battered – sorry, buttered – and to placate angry Xboxers, “they’ve offered both a sincere apology and a freebie,” says the story, adding, “every single Xbox Live member (we’re assuming that’s Gold and Silver subscribers) will now be scoring a free Xbox Live Arcade game”.
Specifics on which game/games, and how you get hold of it, aren’t yet available, but will be coming out shortly, says Kotaku, adding:
“A word of advice, guys: make it Rez HD and this might (might) just blow over. Click through to see Marc Whitten, Xbox Live’s GM, grovel for your forgiveness.”
