Queen Elizabeth bowled by Nintendo

p2pnet news | Games:- Here’s news troubled Sony won’t want to know.
The company is, among a number of other things, desperately trying to push its games console, to be consistently and constantly overshadowed by Nintendo Wii.
Now, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth spotted Prince William’s new Wii, a Christmas gift from his girl-friend Kate Middleton, and when she saw him playing it after lunch at Sandringham, "thought the Nintendo looked tremendous fun and begged to join in," claims The People, going on:
She played a simple ten-pin bowling game and by all accounts was a natural.
It was hilarious. William was in fits of laughter. He was enormously impressed at having such a cool gran.
And although she is 81 the Queen’s hand-eye co-ordination was as good as somebody half her age.
QEII doing promos for Nintendo?
But why not?

About time Sony lost its edge in the gaming market.
Hopefully some of its game developers such as Square (Final Fantasy Developers) will start making their games cross platform.
I own a Wii and gotta say its the funnest system out there. I like many gamers am starting to get bored with the current Game Pad setup on the other consoles.
Its like playing the same game over and over again with a new background and better visuals.
Halo 3 for instatnce was a good game, but was just as challenging as halo 1 and 2.
Way to go Nintendo, about time someone change the gaming industry

Does this mean wii (sic) can now expect to see the royal seal of approval on all their products?

The Wii is a POS system… any gamer knows this.

I feel that this Sony vs. Nintendo fanboy bit is just too funny.
I remember when the major split was between Nintendo and Sega, with everyone not liking the fact that Nintendo had a near monopoly. With the arrival of the Playstation, and the fall of Sega, I remember the hords of people praising SONY for defeating the evil Nintendo, causing a massive decline in sales for the Nintendo 64 console, as well as the Game Cube.
Many of the Game designers also dumped Nintendo, because of their underhanded and arrogant methods of selling games, and joined ranks with the Playstation bandwagon- Square-Enix is a great example with their moving their popular Dragon Quest (Enix) and Final Fantasy(Square) to the Playstation platform, vowing to never produce a product for a Nintendo system ever again.
With the extreme popularity of the PS2, Sony started following in the path of Nintendo, getting more cocky about their licensing, thus angering many game producers – but when you are the leader in an industry, you can often set your own rules.
This, compounded by the fact that the new Playstation 3’s higher quality graphics, forced many game producers to spend MUCH more money on the HQ graphics developement, and less on the developement of gameplay. And to facilitate this “higher quality graphics”, the price of the console hit an ever-too high price range for the consumer market.
Nintendo, on the other hand, learned from their past mistakes, and focus on gameplay than wow-graphics, and opted for a system that was mostly based on their older Game gear system, with regular SD quality graphics, but with a lower production price tag, as well as a lower consumer price tag. I mean, sure the graphics are unique and cute, but quality wise- nothing to write home about.
It will be interesting to see what the next generation of consoles will bring us, and how these views will change once again.
As for the bit of hoping that Square make their games cross-platform compatible… I don’t think that that will happen in any near future, it is excusivity contracts with games companies, that help sell console platforms- also if they did a cross platform, you would really be able to tell if it was worth paying extra money to buy a PS3 or even worse, it might even show had bad the wii’s video quality is in comparison to XBOX 360 or Playstation3.
Is is knida cute to hear that QEII is able to relate with her grandchildren. I think many Royal families could do with comments like that.
Just my two cents

looks like more and more celebrities are openly endorsing the wii, it was recently featured on Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood episode 2 as a ‘great way to get exercise’

I think the Wii is fantastic great fun.
F4te,
I doubt celebrities are taking on the Wii on their own. Celebrities get paid for everything they do. Including the video game consoles they use. They are their own business. I think it shows great marketing on nintendos part by getting the Wii into celebrity hands. Celebrities sell just by the power of association. The Wii has been sold masterfully by nintendo. And celebrities like Soop Dogg using it are proof of that.
