France warns of cellphone dangers

p2pnet news | Mobiles:- Excessive mobile phone use could be dangerous, especially for children, says the French health Ministry.
Mobile phones designed for children had given rise to concern, "since youngsters would be particularly vulnerable to any possible health effects, the Ministry of Health, Youth and Sports said in a statement," states Reuters.
"As the hypothesis of a risk cannot be entirely excluded, precaution is justified," the ministry said, according to the story.
"Today, here and now, it does not appear useful to completely do away with, or ban, mobile phones for children," it has health minister Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin (right) saying, "but in keeping with the principle of caution, I want to inform parents completely," she said.
A 2006 World Health Organization (WHO) report, "said available evidence suggests long-term exposure to radio-frequency and microwave radiation from mobile phones had no adverse health effects".
However, the WHO said other studies pointed to an increased risk of tumors in people who have used an analogue mobile phone for more than 10 years, says Reuters, adding
"The head of France’s AFSSET, an independent but state-funded health watchdog, said parents should not give small children mobile telephones."

The cell phone industry is huge business and any report that may threaten this business will be skewed. Every so often, you will read about communities trying to have microwave towers taken down within areas having high levels of birth defects.

I can see it now, cell phones with warning labels on them just like cigarettes, and the cries of “second hand radiation”… If irrefutable hard evidence was published today that cell phone microwave radiation posed serious real health risks A small percentage of users would give them up, many more would panic, but continue. The majority would keep right on talking. Can you hear me now?

These French governement is a pack of morons. Cell phone are clearly harmless. There is absolutly no theoritical or experimental evidences that EMF are dangerous. Actually experiments indicate the contrary. Even the highest intensity of EMF (so strong that they start actually warming up objects) has been found to do practically nothing to the most sentitive cells (embryos) and organisms (save for the heat effect of course.)
The only thing that could be harfull in cell phones are the chemical fumes that might escape form the plastic case or the IC board.
People should worry about pesticides and dyes in their food, strip search X ray machine at airport, X ray CT scan at the clinic, exaust from gas operated cars law-mowers, air blowers and trimers, polution from factories, paint thiners, adhesive solvants, radioactive wastes that might end up in your water supply, tobacco because it contains nitrosamines a powerful carcinogen. Also worry about what the dentist is putting in your mouth.
We know that to get cancer you need to affect the nucleic acid (typically DNA but possibly also RNA) in the cells. For an agent to be carcinogenic it need to be at the very least an irritant (such as asbestose) and this is not the case of EMF. In EMF the photon carry way too little energy to affect atoms in any way. The only think it can do is trigger curent of electron betweeen atom and molecules, at extremly high intensity of EMF such as in an microwave oven and this can burn you of course. It is not ionizing. Even photons at a much higher level of energy from infrared light and visible light are non-ionizing. Ionization effect of photon start at UV light level of energy, UV light and soft X ray can cause skin cancer as every one know, Hard X ray and and gamma ray can causes many type of cancers including bone cancer leukemia and lymphoma.

EMF radiation definitely isnât something to take lightly! Hereâs a website that reviews some other products that help eliminate harmful cell phone radiation.
