We hadn’t either, but apparently, he’s the unofficial mayor of Hollywood.

Or, we should say, he was.

Because he died yesterday.

The "avuncular honorary mayor of Hollywood who traveled the world as Tinseltown’s No. 1 cheerleader for more than a half-century," was 84, says the Hollywood Reporter.

"From hosting red carpet Oscar arrivals and Walk of Fame festivities to bit parts in movies and producing Hollywood’s annual Christmas Parade, Grant’s mission in life was bringing the Tinseltown story to everyone," adds the story.
