Canada AM boosts air time

p2pnet news | TV:- Canada AM says as of the end of the month, it’ll start producing six hours of live programming between 6 am and noon ET every weekday.
“Local CTV stations across the country will broadcast Canada AM live between 6 and 9 am local time, while the complete six-hour, live edition will air on CTV Newsnet,” it says, adding:
“In order to keep the show going for six hours each weekday, Canada AM will now include a Western anchor team.”
Intereresting.
Wonder how much of this centres on attempts to compete with always-on Net media?

This new format SUCKS SALMON.
They should call the show “Central-Canada AM” from now on. I used to wake up to an interesting talk-type show with news interspersed. Perfect. Now all I get is 2 hours of frickin’ Mi-Jung Lee rehashing the same boring news over and over. All the people and features I liked are gone. They’ve essentially CANCELLED THE SHOW in Western Canada.

I agree with the comments above. I can no longer watch Canada AM. I do not care for the new personalities. Boring boring Vancouver news over and over. What a disappointment. It was so enjoyable and entertaining to watch Seamus O’Regan, Beverly Thomson and Jeff Hutcheson as part of our morning routine. … very sad not to be able to see them.

I could not agree more….A great show that is now only available to Eastern Canada…I wonder if they get traffic and weather reports every 4 minutes in their version, or if they get the pleasure of watching the REAL Canada Am?…Bad times for us in the West.

Now it sucks in Saskatchewan too. Since there is no DST time shift here we too lose the Eastern broadcast which used be re-broadcast on western stations so I could catch the whole show. Now we have to get up an hour earlier if we want to catch the REAL show.

Not Good. I used to look forward to Beverly Thomson getting me up in the morning.

I am writing from Sask. I too do not like the changes that have taken place with Canada AM. I really liked the show the way it was but now I don’t really care if I watch it or not. I like interesting topics to be discussed with Beverly, Seamus, Marci and Jeff. I say don’t wreck a good thing.
