Sony BMG denies dumping Annie Lennox

p2pnet news | Music:- Sony BMG has "dumped" Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox, according to Britain’s Daily Mirror.

"The superstar was stunned when Sony BMG suddenly began ignoring her weeks before her contract was due to expire," says the story, going on that Lennox, 53, "has been hit hard by the shabby treatment. The story has her saying, "They totally ignored me. It was bizarre, a kick in the teeth.

"They didn’t even pick up phone calls or emails for three weeks. I’m trying to find out what’s behind it. Probably a good thing that I’m no longer with them - mild understatement. Unless it’s them trying to tell me something."

But according to Reuters/Billboard, that’s ludicrous, says Sony BMG.

It confirmed it no longer has a contract with Lennox, but, "it hopes to work with her in the future," says the story, continuing:

"The quotes attributed to Annie’s dissatisfaction with her label arose out of a trip in December to South Africa and have no relevance to the expiry of her contract," said a Sony BMG statement.

Lennox’s London-based management, "had no comment to add to the Sony BMG statement, but suggested Lennox’s quotes had been taken out of context," says Reuters/Billboard.

  1. Reader's Write Says:

LOL Artists expect good treatment or what? Record labels wants their income nothing else, if the artist isnt generating for them they cut her/him off and finds/creates a new one.
Its no longer about having great artists its all about good looking artists, the rest can be fixed with computers and artists rarely make their own songs anymore..

Artists are nothing more then puppets and its self inflikted for feeding record labels.
