Tom Cruise, Scientologists, attack blog

p2pnet news | Movies:- “The purpose of the suit is to harass and discourage rather than win.”

It could easily be a quote from someone at Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s RIAA, perhaps. Or maybe the MPAA.

It goes on:

“The law can be used very easily to harass, and enough harassment on somebody who is simply on the thin edge anyway, well knowing that he is not authorized, will generally be sufficient to cause professional decease.”

And, it adds, “If possible, of course, ruin him utterly.”

tBut it’s not a quote from an entertainment cartel hack.

It’s from L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology.

“I think it’s a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist. It’s something you have to earn … He or she has the ability to create new and better realities ….”

And that’s cult member Tom Cruise in a Scientology video catchily entitled Tom Cruise On, Tom Cruise Scientologist with, Yup, trying to explain why it’s so, well, so damned cool and terrific and great to be a Scientologist.

It’s hilarious.

Not so funny is the fact he and the so-called ‘church,’ have sent Gawker Media a —- you guessed it — copyright infringement notice.

Says a post on Gawker, including the L. Ron quote in the intro >>>

So it’s hardly surprising that the Scientologists’ lawyers would at least threaten a huge lawsuit against the author of this week’s controversial new biography of Tom Cruise, which also exposes many of the sect’s most embarrassing secrets.

Nor that Gawker Media has received a copyright infringement notice. Below, the request to remove clips posted to Gawker and Defamer as part of our coverage of the Tom Cruise biography; and, after that, Gawker’s refusal to comply. (And here’s the video the Scientologists want to suppress, of the Hollywood star’s wild-eyed claims that Scientologists are “the authorities on the mind and.. the way to happiness”.)

The video is currently on YouTube, but who knows how long it’ll stay there? But it’s definitely worth saving for posterity so use your favourite capture app, or maybe KeepVid, before Cruise and other Scientology heavies lean on Google to make them take it down.

For now, you can view it below. Immediately beneath it is another YouTube video, this time from MSNBC discussing the problems Cruise is having in Germany. The top right pic is a clip from the second YouTube video.

In Valkyrie, Cruise will play Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, leader of the 1944 plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler using a bomb hidden in a briefcase, scheduled for release next year.

In the video, a spokesman said the German Protestant church, Thomas Gandow, says Cruise is the Goebbels of Scientology, and, “This film will have the same propaganda advantages for Scientology as the 1936 Olympics had for the Nazis”.

Von Stauffenberg must be turning over in his grave.

His son, Berthold, “told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper earlier this week that he objected to Cruise taking the role because of his involvement with Scientology,” says the BBC. “He should keep his hands off my father,” it has von Stauffenberg vehemently declaring.

Nor is he alone in his distaste of the cult.

Germany’s interior ministers have instructed the country’s domestic intelligence agency to prepare a dossier on the organization’s activities with a view to ban it next year on the grounds it’s unconstitutional.

(Thanks, Maggie)

How funny this whole thing is! But instead of attempting to shut them down, we in America should allow them to keep doing what they’re doing: it’s trivially harmless, carries a HUGE entertainment factor, and there is no fear that any of them will strap on bombs and blow us up if we piss them off!

so you have forgotten or are choosing to ignore the suspicious deaths of people connected to the cult and the fact they infiltrated the IRS(fact) and possibly more. would you trust them with your details. (blackmail, money landaring, credit cards in your name etc..)

if they where just a bunch of wackos who just conned people out of money(yes you have to pay for this religion its not optional colections) then yes leave them be, but its more than just a few bad apples

  3. Reader's Write Says:

They’re so CREEPY. just thinking about them makes my skin crawl.

  4. Reader's Write Says:

That was the most boring interview I have ever seen. I laughed from the beginning to the end.

Ya’ know if the Scientologists are such incredible experts in turning ’round drug addicts and the mentally ill, then why haven’t the Scientologists set up any clinics or facilities to practice what he (Cruise) preaches?

  5. Dude from Finland Says:

Because you have to be a scientologist to recieve treatment. And for that you have to pay. And how many addicts do you know that have a bunch of extra cash lying around for the Scientologists to take? For more info http://www.xenu.net.

  6. Concerned Says:

I for one think its really sad how these co**su**ing, mother***king, lying, evil, sh**headed, bas*erds have twisted this poor, poor man into something so monstrously, despicably abherrant.

  8. Tenor Says:

Its the PR behind all this that fascinates me (theres a very good article here about that http://www.markborkowski.com/?p=7322) – its such a great example of the power of the net. The web community is succeeding in critiscising Cruise and the church where traditonal news media have failed for fear of reprisal.
Another thing i hadnt realised unti today is that this video was made 4 years ago, and strangely co-incided with the release of the Cruise biography. Whats that all about i wonder?

  9. Ourre Says:

Reader’s Write: It’s not “harmless fleecing”. THIS IS A DANGEROUS FREAKY CULT AND SHOULD BE OUTLAWED JUST LIKE DAVID KORESH’S FOLLOWERS AND THE “CHILDREN OF GOD”. Absolutely no difference. When children are born into this cult they are hid away from society and brought up to be Sci-fi drones with little or no emotion. I’ve seen the results in somebody I know, and it’s frightening. All they are doing is taking away free will and teaching them to be emotionless so they won’t register on their “e-meter” which is simply a lie detector, and they use emotional blackmail to keep you in there. It’s HORRIBLE!

This is a MULTIMILLION-DOLLAR SHAM PEOPLE, take action against it, please!

  10. Ourre Says:

Not to mention – Their esteemed Leader, L. Ron Hubbard-squash’s OWN SON disowned him, and their current leader, David Misgavige’s OWN NIECE have some stories that would blow your socks off.

GOOGLE THEM AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.
