Power of a pretty face

p2pnet news | Advertising:- Recognize the girl on the right?

If you buy, or have bought, Snorg Ts from Snorg Tees, you might.

She’s the girl in the masthead at the top of the site and she’s Alice Fraasa, a 19-year-old communications major at Auburn University in Alabama.

And according to Associated Press, she’s a living demonstration of the power of a pretty face.

Says the story:

Photos of a wide-eyed, laughing Fraasa lure thousands of people daily to Snorg Tees’ Internet store, most of them from social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace or other youth-oriented domains where the banner ads are featured.

One click on Alice and potential customers are browsing T-shirts imprinted with phrases like “I’m kind of a big deal” and “Your mom goes to college.”

After nearly four years as an anonymous face on the Web, Fraasa is used to getting cockeyed glances of half recognition, the odd looks of people who vaguely recognize her.

The brothers, Bryan and Flynn, who own the company, put much of its success down to Alice, and they must be doing pretty well by now.

So how much do they pay her? Not a lot. In fact, nothing.

She does, however, get free Ts.

“Flynn isn’t sure what’s behind Fraasa’s clickability,” says AP, but, “she’s got free T-shirts for life if she’ll just keep posing.”

Given this new media exposure, it’ll be interesting to see just how long she says just a pretty face advertising T-shirts ;)

========================

CORRECTION !!!!

I made a mistake. I went to the site and assumed the girl at the top was Alice. (Cough, cough.) But I zoomed over there again and the banner at the top changes. There’s even a guy with a fake moustache ;)

Sorry, whoever the girl I called Alice is (blush).

That’s Alice on the far right. Wearing the T. And it’s from her MySpace page.

But the same thing applies. Alice’s new-found fame will probably result in interesting repercussions. In a nice way.

(Thanks, Dreddsnik)

are either of the 2 pictures here “alice”? they look like 2 very different girls and don’t seem to even be related to each other.

the girl on the left looks nothing like the girl on the right, and vicey-versy.

  4. Reader's Write Says:

wake up they ARE different girls – “That’s Alice on the far right. Wearing the T. And it’s from her MySpace page” also see 1st post

“The power of a pretty face” when it comes to marketing a product is equally simple to understand as the fact that most boys (men) and girls (women) will take a second look at a person if that person looks good. If you are interested you can for instance read more here: (see for instance; Julander C-R & Soderlund M, 2003, The decorative model in ads revisited in the relationship marketing era, proceedings from the 32nd EMAC, Glasgow)

Nice post, but for the record…Auburn University is in the state of Alabama, not Georgia.

    War Eagle!!

  7. Jon Says:

Fixed! Sorry about that : )

    Cheers!

  8. Jim Says:

So who is the lovely lass on the left? Ms. Fraasa’s celebrity has been noted on multitudes of websites, but the cutie on the left remains anonymous. Can you enlighten us as to her identity?
She is quite beautiful, although I suspect quite young as well. If she is of age, please do try and publicize her name.

    Thank you.

  9. Snorger Says:

I so want to know who the girl on the left is! I will never meet her, but I would love to see other pics of her. She is so dang hot!
If I ever get a Snorg tee made mebbe I could meet her then, how about, “Shave like a man” with a rusty knife pic underneath……

  10. Reader's Write Says:

That chick on the left is so much hotter!

  11. whosthegirlontheleft? Says:

Yeah, who’s the girl on the left? Anyone?

  12. Brad Says:

If anyone is still interested the name of the girl on left is Megan Miller.
