Long legs and Kylie Minogue
p2pnet news | Off Topic:- A "run-of-the-mill Polish woman at 5ft 4in tall with an inside leg measurement of 29in would require 30.5in legs to compete with the celebrated pins of Oz popstress Kylie Minogue".
Huh?
Yup. That’s a clip from a post in The Register which he kicks off with, "Polish researchers have discovered that the perfect set of legs is five per cent longer than the average".
Oh.
It’s quoting a Telegraph story which in turn draws from New Scientist, and which goes on that very long legs aren’t necessarily better, "because the study also showed that those with an extra 10 per cent were actually rated as less attractive.
OK. But where does Minogue come into it?
"The findings could explain the sex appeal of stars such as Kylie Minogue, the singer, who despite being only 5ft tall, has topped polls of the ‘best celebrity legs’," says the story.
Adds the Telegraph, "Polish researchers at Wroclaw University asked 218 male and female volunteers to rate, in order of attractiveness, seven silhouettes of a man and woman.
"Although the images were the same height, each had different leg lengths. The most attractive were judged to be those with legs that were five per cent longer than average."
But the author of the study, Dr Boguslaw Pawlowski, "suspects the results would apply across most Western cultures".
Now you know.
Slashdot it!

I would totally agree that having longer legs proportionally would be more attractive regardless of actual standing height; this puts at a disadvantage for East Asians though.
