Tickle Me Elmo is, “based on Elmo, a Muppet character from Sesame Street,” says the Wikipedia. Squeezed, “Elmo would chortle.” Squeezed three times in a row, “Elmo would begin to shake and laugh hysterically.”

Tickle Me Emo is the, “tortured, angst-ridden teen cousin of Elmo and Boy! Is he sad!” – says a MD TV promo on YouTube.

And he comes complete with 13 thoroughly depressing sayings, ie:

“If life is so fair, why do roses have thorns”?

Or

“There is NO God. You hear me? No God!”
