Oscars list out: show will go on …

p2pnet news | Movies:- Hollywood writers notwithstanding, the Oscars list is now out with No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood at the top.
Whether or not there will actually be an Oscars ceremony is still open to question.
But hope springs eternal and, “The academy is trying to prevent the 80th annual Oscars telecast from suffering the same fate as the Golden Globe Awards,”says Bloomberg News.
“The televised Globes ceremony was called off after actors refused to cross the picket lines of striking writers to accept or present awards.”
The academy is working on ‘contingencies’ in case stars boycott the presentations, the story has president Sid Ganis saying, adding:
“A show will be held with or without them.”
Meanwhile, “Other films receiving best-picture nods include ‘Atonement,’ ‘Michael Clayton’ and ‘Juno’,” says the story, adding:
“George Clooney was among those chosen for best actor, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said today at a news conference in Beverly Hills, California.”
Will the possibly forthcoming George W. Bush, The Movie, be made and if it is, will it be among the nominations next year?

What a shame to see it go on. I would rather see it down to be honest. Not much on tv these days worth watching. Just before I quit watching, more times that not I felt like I wanted that wasted hour back.
