Heath Ledger dead. Drugs involved?

p2pnet news | Movies:- Another young Hollywood celebrity appears to have fallen victim to drugs.

Australian actor Heath Ledger was found lying face down on the floor in a Manhattan apartment yesterday.

His death may have been drug-related death, say the police, according to Canadian Press.

Nominated for a best actor Oscar for his role as a gay cowboy in Brokeback Mountain, he was in Toronto last year promoting Candy in which he plays a heroin addict.

“I had no real desire to play a junkie,” Ledger said in an interview with CP, going on:

“Ledger, who at one point discussed raising children in a world where drugs were readily available, even signed an autograph to be passed along to a teenaged fan. It read: “Don’t do drugs,” followed by his signature.

“Contrary to early reports, the apartment where he was found does not belong to Mary-Kate Olsen,” the Los Angeles Times has NYPD spokesman Paul Browne saying.

“The spokesman also said that preliminary reports that pills were found scattered around Ledger’s body were also inaccurate.

“Police did find prescription sleeping pills in a container in the bedroom and other pills in containers in the bathroom, but Browne said it was too early to establish a cause of death.”

But there were no indications of foul play, Browne said.

Ledger’s family has denied a report that the 28-year-old actor committed suicide, says Guardian Unlimited, adding:

“Ledger had last been home to Australia over the Christmas period, which he spent with his family in Perth.

“He had had a difficult relationship with the local paparazzi, but he left a long and rambling phone message for West Australian newspaper’s film editor, Mark Naglazas, to thank the media for leaving him alone during his stay.

” ‘I don’t know whether it’s a conscious thing or an unconscious thing, giving me space and respecting my privacy,’ he said. ‘It’s just been awesome. It’s really enabled me to be a boy again from home and feel like I’d never left’.”
