Actor Fred Thompson drops presidential effort

p2pnet news | TV:- Actor (and Republican) Fred Thompson has abandoned his presidential efforts.
He quit the race for the White House, “after a string of poor finishes in early primary and caucus states,” says Associated Press.
Thompson, the district attorney on NBC’s ‘Law & Order,’ “placed third in Iowa and South Carolina, two states seemingly in line with his right-leaning pitch and laid-back style, and fared even worse in the four other states that have held contests thus far,” says the story, going on that he ran out of money.
“Despite initial impressions that Thompson could garner strong conservative support, it never materialized,” AP adds:
“He never won backing from more than one in five conservatives in any of the earliest primaries and caucuses, including the 19 percent who exit polls for The Associated Press and television networks showed supported him in South Carolina. His showings were similarly weak with white born-again and evangelical Christians.”

That is because conservatives, like most other Americans want action, not bullsh**. Americans are tired of politicians making empty promised (lying to them) during the campaign, and then breaking almost all their promises once elected.
To the folks who hate Americans – We don’t have any real say in the government. We are not a Republic or even a democracy, but rather an elected dictatorship. I can only hope that Ron Paul becomes our next President. What make him different? One thing is that he stands on his record. NEVER ONCE did he vote for a tax increase or an unconstitutional bill. In fact, he is known on capital hill as Dr. No. If he is elected, then the rest of the world can relax knowing that he will not use bombs and guns to force American policy on other countries.

Agreed. With Thompson gone maybe we can attract more people to the Ron Paul camp.
