RIAA Expert Witness fund hits $6,260

p2pnet news | RIAA News:- Last November Ray Beckerman, the New York lawyer who runs Recording Industry vs The People, launched the Expert Witness Defense Fund.
And as of this posting, it’s collected $6,260.02
RIvTP is the Net’s only repository for legal documents centring on Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG efforts to sue their own customers into becoming compliant consumers of corporate product.
The Big 4′s RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has been getting away with legal murder, flaunting ‘ experts’ to deliver ‘ testimonies’ to supposedly prove victims were guilty of massive online distribution of copyrighted music files.
However, as with the example of Doug Jacobson, an RIAA favourite whose name pops up in the RIAA court documents, the testimonies turn out to be completely unreliable.
To repudiate the kind of spurious nonsense the RIAA regularly and routinely puts to technologically ignorant judges, it’s necessary to hire experts capable of analysing and deconstructing it.
And of course, not one of the men women or children accused by the RIAA can afford to hire this kind of expert help.
Indeed, they can’t even afford to hire a lawyer, as the RIAA knows full well.
Beckerman and the Free Software Foundation started the Expert Witness Defense Fund to help remedy this.
Be part of the movement to let Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG know we don’t depend on them, they depend on us,
