Mac OS X development slow-down
p2pnet.net News:- Apple’s current rate of Mac OS X development isn’t sustainable. And that’ll mean a slow-down in product releases.
The news, coming in Macworld UK here, is attributed to Apple chief software technology officer Avie Tevanian during a talk he gave at at the SIIA Enterprise Software Summit 2004.
“But you’ll still see us go really fast,” he’s quoted as saying.
There have been three major updates since OS X in 2001 and Apple plans to show 10.4 Tiger at its worldwide developers conference (WWDC) in July, says Macworld, although there’s been no announcement as to when Tiger will ship.
“Apple has made great progress in making its products a good fit for businesses but it will take time before they are seen that way,” it has Tevanian saying, adding:
“We’ve not been strong in that market in the recent past at all. We don’t expect people to automatically just believe that this product is the best thing for them.”
