To the 'Don Pitts' comment above, go fuck yourself. You're obviously just one of Gibson's lowly employees trying to discredit and give a bad name to tonedeff in hopes of repairing your (Gibson's) tarnished image. And if there IS any chance whatsoever that you really ARE, Don Pitts, I'm gonna feel bad for you when you finally run into one of tone's fans, or better yet, anybody who has read about how you handled this situation.

Well Hip-Hop is not music. It is simply sounds placed together in a program generated beat/tempo, there is nothing creative about it. He doesnt Deserve the equipment.

I don't see what poor Don did that was so wrong? Normally, after a few knockbacks people get the message and go away don't they? What's with this guy?

Maybe it's all the fault of p2p downloaders or something? I dunno. Whatever.

Peace.

I don't much care for hip hop. Still I've always felt that one mans trash and all of that. Should there have been some genre of music they didn't want in the show then it should have been in the rules to begin with.

Chances are good that one of Don Pitts buddies has the equipment. If Gibson is gonna sponsor a playoff for prizes then that is cool. If they gonna renig on it after the fact, that's not exactly what I would call good customer relations.

For years I've used Gibson equipment but now I'm gonna have to rethink this. You see I gotta problem with companies and the people that represent them when they won't hold up their end of a bargin. I always have had this idea that those I support by buying and using their equipment do business in a way I like. Likewise when they don't I don't do business with them anymore. My dollar is a vote in what I believe in and what I don't believe in. I spend it that way too. Not just music equipment mind you but anything else as well.

That's the reason that the major cartels haven't gotten a penny from me since they started sue'em all. I live by that idea. That's not just a today thing.

It's just as easy for me to say, not Gibson strings, give me Martin. If they don't have the Martins in the right guage, hey that's cool, there are tons of music stores not to mention on line I can chose from. But I am not stuck with Gibson making the only strings nor the only equipment. I, not they, have that choice and I do use and shop that way.

Now I don't know about the rest, but whether the guy plays hip hop or all he does is raps, has no bearing on whether he plays an instrument or not. If he won the prize doesn't matter what he did even if it was to play a set of spoons. If the promoter representing Gibson can't live up to his end of the deal and wants to weasle after the fact, I can tell you straight up, I won't weasle on how I see it.

I wonder how others feel on the net where this story has went out? Wonder what Gibson would think if suddenly their stock started crashing because they weren't making projected sales? Well, here's one that gonna do his part to affect those project sales figures. Might be a spit in the ocean but that don't matter. It's how I live my life that does matter.

That's pretty fucked up. I'm sure Gibson's actions have nothing to do with which style of music they prefer, but this is in-fuckin'-excusable. Aren't they under some sort of contract obligation?
