Rogue US spy satellite threatens Earth
p2pnet news | Off Topic:- A large American spy satellite is plummeting towards Earth, out of control, US government officials have admitted.
It could contain hazardous materials, and it’s unknown where it might come down, they said, according to Associated Press, which goes on
“The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the information is classified as secret. It was not clear how long ago the satellite lost power, or under what circumstances.”
But not to worry.
“Appropriate government agencies are monitoring the situation,” the story has Gordon Johndroe, a spokesman for the National Security Council, declaring.
“He would not comment on whether it is possible for the satellite to perhaps be shot down by a missile. He said it would be inappropriate to discuss any specifics at this time.”
Says AP:
“The spacecraft contains hydrazine - which is rocket fuel - according to a government official who was not authorized to speak publicly but spoke on condition of anonymity. Hydrazine, a colorless liquid with an ammonia-like odor, is a toxic chemical and can cause harm to anyone who contacts it.
John Pike, a defense and intelligence expert, “estimated that the spacecraft weighs about 20,000 pounds and is the size of a small bus,” states AP, adding:
“He said the satellite would create 10 times less debris than the Columbia space shuttle crash in 2003. Satellites have natural decay periods, and it’s possible this one died as long as a year ago and is just now getting ready to re-enter the atmosphere.”

Afaik sattelites wheren’t designed to reenter the earth’s atmosphere.Hence they got no protection from the air friction heat. And since it’s full of fuel the propability its gonna land on earth is imo 0% its gonna heat u like a can full of benzin and if it doesent blow up it’ll certanly burn to dust.

I guess there aren’t too many out there that remember when Space Lab came crashing back to Earth? It broke up into so many pieces that it landed on a tack encompassing hundreds of miles!
No big threat here. Like x3style said, it’ll explode into oblivion and MAYBE there MIGHT be a few pieces of it left to hit ground if any at all. It’s just a matter of WHERE it’s going to enter the Earth’s atmosphere as to where it MAY scatter what’s left of it.
