New Britney Spears hospital drama

p2pnet news | Music:- Britney Spears has been rushed to hospital in an ambulance for the second time in a matter of weeks.

“Los Angeles Police officers physically removed pop star Britney Spears from her home early today, placing the troubled celebrity on a ‘mental health evaluation hold,’ authorites said,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

“More than a dozen motorcycle officers and a Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance swept through the front gates of Spears hilltop Studio City residence shortly before 1 a.m., as a police helicopter hovered overheard. At 1:08 a.m., officers inside the home radioed to commanders that ‘the package is on the way out’,” says the story.

“Spears was rushed from a side entrance of her home into an ambulance. As she was driven down Coldwater Canyon Boulevard, her vehicle was escorted by more than a dozen motorcycle officers, two cruisers and two police helicopters. Her final destination was the UCLA Medical Center, authorities said.”

‘The most bankable celebrity’

One way or another, the entertainment community is costing US taxpayers a bomb.

Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG, members of the Big 4 organised music cartel, and Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney, aka Hollywood, “routinely use scarce taxpayer funded enforcement resources as unpaid corporate copyright cops,” p2pnet posted yesterday.

Now, “a dozen motorcycle officers, two cruisers and two police helicopters” escort Britney Spears to hospital, says the LA Times.

Gotta keep the paparazzi away somehow, speaking of which, “Britney is the most bankable celebrity out there right now, and she has been for the past year,” Associated Press has Francois Navarre, founder of the paparazzi agency X17, saying.

She became a, “can’t-miss tabloid topic after filing for divorce from second husband Kevin Federline in November 2006,” says the story.

“Since then, she’s been in and out of rehab, shaved her head, revealed a bit too much above the hemline, was arrested after a traffic accident, and lost custody of her kids (and later her visitation rights),” it says, going on:

“At a time when advertising spending in traditional media is declining, celebrity gossip titles such as Star, Us Weekly and In Touch Weekly are growing. That helped overall newsstand sales for magazines edge 1 percent higher, to $2.39 billion, in the first half of 2007.

An editor’s dream is to, “have a real life soap opera unraveling in front of you, and Britney provides that every week,” AP has Sarah Ivens, OK!’s US editor, saying.

The magazine’s 10-person Los Angeles Spears team is on “constant Britney alert,” and the, “heightened demand for Spears pictures has been a boon to photographers,” according to X17’s Navarre, who told AP an exclusive shot of the star would sell for about $10,000 in the US and generate thousands more in residuals.

“She’s the most expensive right now,” he said. “For Angelina, for example, you divide by two or even three to get the price.”

In contrast, the average celebrity shot fetches $125 to $700, says Scott Mc Kiernan, founder of ZUMA Press photo agency. He said residual fees on exclusives can push the value of a unique Spears shot well past $100,000, states AP.

X17, which owns the infamous picture of a bald Spears taken in February, has a team of photographers tracking her at all times.

“For us, she’s the star No. 1,” Navarre said.

Meanwhile, there’s been no further word on whether or not Spears is still lined up to star in a movie about the Virgin Mary.

I’ve been following your progress closely. You must be making what, $2000 or $3000 a month on advertising alone? And you pretend P2PNet is “not a business site” and “not entrepreneurial”?

But that isn’t why I’m submitting this. My sympathies are with Musico, the comment poster you’ve unilaterally banned from the site. You claim you’re for freedom of speech but the fact is you’re only for yourself; everything else is window dressing. But you are slowly being exposed for what you really are.

I confidently expect this ‘Reader’s Write’ to be expunged.

    Is P2Pnet changing to TMZ?

And i assume u also think that web servers run on air.Or that anyone will pay out of his own pocket for something useful for a comunity.

It’s just musico trolling under different names.
Best thing is to just ignore the garbage posts.
He’s going to keep this up until he gets bored,
like a sociopathic 6 year old.

Fortunately he is easy to spot.

Musico is just posting more trolls under different names.
Forutnately he’s real easy to spot.
    just ingonre our virtual ‘Sybil’

My ‘income’ from yesterday was .40 cents, Canadian.

Freedom Lover is a little too articulate to be Musico, who’s limited to really nasty personal attacks. But this has tweaked my curiosity.

I’m going to leave Freedom Lover up because s/he looks to be a little more than just a boring slagger like Musico.

A troll is “An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that they have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand – they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of life on the net …” – http://catb.org/jargon/html/T/troll.html

I think I’ll look into corporate, so to speak, trolls. So if anyone has any info or insights on this – anonymous is OK – please email me at p2pnet at shaw dot ca.

    Cheers! And thanks …

I’m on Jon’s side with this one.
Musico was more about personal attacks than actual commenting and adding to discussion.

Which brings to mind, this artical isn’t surprising, i figured Britany would end up in the hospital again.
I’m interested in seeing what the “Mental Health Evaluation” brings to light…..

And Jon I clicked every ad I could find on your site for ya, I think any reader who enjoys this site should be doing the same.
Remember people Jon does this work for our benifit, so what if he makes a couple bucks and can eat at MD’s for lunch..

Clearly no expensive is spared for celebrity drug addicts in America. If I lived there, I would be questioning the resources allocated for this one citizen. Can you really imagine an ordinary drug addict receiving this amount of care and attention from the state?? It seems to be one rule for celebrities and another for the rest of us ^^

One the one hand, I agree with this, on the other hand …
I was watching the news .. the REGULAR news, and they showed a clip of
her just trying to sit outside, near her home, in the middle of the night,
    with her dog.
Just trying to catch some real quiet time.
Of course, the constant flashes of photographers camera made the scene look
like a surreal still life under a strobe light.

I think that would drive anyone insane.

Of course, the law doesn’t seem to want to protect her from this type of unwanted
attention, it protects the photographers that continue to drive her crazy.

I think I can cut her a little slack as far as resources allocated go.

  11. Jay Says:

Once again I dont mind reading about certain celebrities or the dramas they are in. Britney is worth 110+million a year to the US economy. All we need is more celebrities messing up and the US might recover from the recession.

And seeing there is a music, tv and movie section it is only fitting to put news stories in those sections.

  12. Reader's Write Says:

Sorry but I’m not trolling around (I posted the original TMZ comment), I discovered P2Pnet throught Slyck (they were linking all the news from here), and really enjoyed (and actually still enjoy) reading P2Pnet every day, but in the past 6 months I’m seeing it turning into something else and I feel sad about it.

Look at those headlines from Slyck this week :
    “µTorrent Addresses Security Hole”
“The Pirate Bay Breaks 10 Million Users”

I should’ve read about those here, but the Britney/celebrity trash news took their place, and now I can’t even find mention of these events (not on the front page, not using search).

So please, please, don’t turn into TMZ.

  13. Jon Says:

Meanwhile, with all due respect to Slyck, it has links to stories. p2pnet has stories.

And I’m only one person but from the look of it, Slyck has a number of people submitting its links.

    I do my best :)

    Cheers!
