MS Office for Mac: $400

p2pnet.net News:- The $400 Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac, available as of today, “helps Mac customers get in touch with their inner business suit to take care of business more efficiently, leaving more time for the pursuit of passions,” says Microsoft, not going into detail about which passions they might have more time to pursue.

And, say Bill and the Boyz, would-be users can try it out for 30 days.

Not at all coincidentally, Evermore Integrated Office (EIOffice) 2004, China’s PC $149 answer, is slated to hit markets in China, Japan, and the US next Monday, says developer Evermore Software.

Back in the USofA, MacO 2004 has new comment balloons, users can, “launch instant conversations via MSN Messenger for Mac Version 4.0 directly from a comment in Microsoft Word,” there’s Unicode support.and display in more than 30 languages, and file names are no longer limited to 31 characters.

The Standard and Student and Teacher editions hit stores and online sellers, says CRN here, going on:
“Both include updated versions of the Mac editions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as the Entourage 2004 e-mail client and MSN Messenger 4.0.

“The Professional version of the suite, however, won’t appear until the second half of the year, said Microsoft. Professional is to contain a copy of Virtual PC for Mac 7, emulation software that allows Mac OS X-equipped systems to run Windows software.”
