Beware February 10, Anonymous warns Scientologists

p2pnet news | Freedom:- The Church of Scientology should beware not the Ides of March, but those coming on February 10, warns Anonymous, a group vigorously opposed to the cult.
“Hello leaders of Scientology,” said a video posted by Anonymous on YouTube recently, going on:
We are anonymous. Over the years we have been watching you, your campaigns of misinformation, your suppression of dissent and your litigious nature. All of these things have caught our eye. With the leakage of your latest propaganda video into mainstream circulation the extent of your malign influence over those who have come to trust you as leaders has been made clear to us.
Anonymous has therefore decided that your organisation should be destroyed.
On the same day, “With news of the most recent RIAA hack echoing in the background, has the Cult of Scientology site been attacked?” – wondered p2pnet, “Or is it just too embarrassed to go online after spokesman Tom Cruise’s appalling video release, which is now all over the web?”
Scientologists are unsuccessfully trying to live down the hilarious insider video showing cult propagandist Tom Cruise ranting about the joys and responsibilities of membership.
The cult ordered YouTube to take the video offline, and YouTube obeyed. But it was too to late —- much too late.
Shortly afterwards, the Anonymous video went online and the Scientology site was hacked.
Now, “CALL TO ARMS 12 02/10/08 11:00AM (respective timezones) Worldwide,” Anonymous posted on p2pnet yesterday, going on:
It has come to the attention of Anonymous that there are a number of you out there who do not clearly understand what we are or why we have undertaken our present course of action. Contrary to the assumptions of the media, Anonymous is not “a group of super hackers”. Anonymous is a collective of individuals united by an awareness that someone must do the right thing, that someone must bring light to the darkness, that someone must open the eyes of a public that has slumbered for far too long, that someone must counter assholes with great lulz.
Among our numbers you will find individuals from all walks of life – lawyers, parents, IT professionals, members of law enforcement, college and graduate students, veterinary technicians and more. Anonymous is everyone and everywhere. We have no leaders, no single entity directing us – only the collective outrage of individuals, guiding our hand in the current efforts to bring awareness.
We want you to be aware of the very real dangers of Scientology. We want you to know about the gross human rights violations committed by this cult. We want you to know about Lisa McPhearson. We want you to know about former members of Scientology’s private navy, SeaOrg, who were forced to have abortions so that they could continue in service to the church. We want you to know about Scientology’s use of child labor and their gulags. We want you to know about Operation Freakout and Paulette Cooper. We want you to know about Operation Snow White and Scientology’s efforts to infiltrate the government of the United States of America.
We want you to know about all of these things that have been swept under the rug for far too long. The information is out there. It is yours for the taking. Arm yourself with knowledge.
Be very wary of the 10th of February. Anonymous invites you to join us in an act of solidarity. Anonymous invites you to take up the banner of free speech, of human rights, of family and freedom. Join us in protest outside of Scientology centers world wide. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. We will be heard. Expect us.
With the Anonymous statement that it’s not a group of hackers in mind, Hackers declare Scientology D-day, trumpets a Sydney Morning Herald headline, going on:
Anonymous internet users who have previously crashed Church of Scientology websites have named February 10 as a worldwide day of protest in a bid to “destroy” the controversial religion.
The group – called Anonymous – which includes skilled computer hackers, has posted a message on YouTube declaring war on Scientology, accusing it of trying to censor the internet and conducting “campaigns of misinformation”.
The apparent catalyst for the attack was YouTube’s decision to remove a video of Hollywood star Tom Cruise – one of Scientology’s most high-profile recruits – espousing the religion’s virtues after the church asked that it be pulled.
Operation Clambake, run from Stavanger in Norway by Heldal-Lund, says whoever created the Anonymous video is playing into Scientology’s hands but meanwhile, “The niece of Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige has attacked the actor Tom Cruise for “supporting a religion that tears apart families, both in the media and monetarily,” says The First Post, going on:
“Jenna Hill Miscavige wrote last month to a senior church official in a letter that has since been distributed on the internet: ‘Hell, if Scientology can’t keep his [Cruise's] family together – then why on earth should anyone believe the church helps brings families together!’ Since her denouncement, Hill Miscavige claims she’s been subjected to harassment.
“Hill Miscavige’s mother and father (David Miscavige’s older brother) left Scientology in 2000, but she stayed on until 2005, during which time she says she was kept in a boarding school, only allowed to see her parents once a year and subjected to a bizarre daily regimen.
” ‘We were required to write down all transgressions… similar to a sin in the Catholic religion. After writing them all down, we would receive a meter check on the Electropsychometer to make sure we weren’t hiding anything, and you would have to keep writing until you came up clean. This is from the age of five until I was 12′.
“Since her letter appeared, Hill Miscavige has told journalist Philip Recchia: ‘The church has contacted several of my friends, telling them that I am smearing the church and I am going to be declared a suppressive person and asking my friends if they would disconnect from me and, in at least one case, insisting that they do’.”
Continue to stay tuned, especially if you’re in London, Los Angeles, Toronto, Sydney and Melbourne.

This Anonymous war is fucking stupid as hell. These idiots think they’re going to take down an entire religion just by DDoSing their website and standing around their “churches”.
You guys may think you’re killing Scientology, but all you’re doing is attracting newfags to /b/. I’m not even going to bother with rules 1 & 2 anymore.

scientology isn’t a religion, it’s a dangerous, money-making cult.

…it should be interesting to see if anon & related partners (namefags) manage to phish someone useful from the cult and actually get in and cause some havoc. Given the track record I’ve seen though, weaboos and myspace teens have been their most successful identity hijackings.

Internet is bad news for brain washing cults such as the scientology.

Exposing what this cult has done to people and putting it out in the way the cult cannot suppress (i.e. p2p) is a good way to put the hurt on this cult. Another way is to make anyone who subscribes to scientology look a certified moonbat. This one is pretty easy to do.
