With that said, this is an interesting thread showing a lot of emotion and ignorant people….then, luckily, flavored with a few balanced writers and some comedians! I am a practicing Muslim and wish the pictures were not on the site, however, it will NOT effect me nor my religion as I/we do not engage in any idolitry of any of God’s prophets in pictures or statues. Muslims are not allowed to depict ANY prophet including the revered Jesus (Issa) peace-be-upon-him. ” Plus she also said … ” And hey….a little bit of respect and tolerance could go a long way in a “perfect” world. ” This fine minded woman has it so right and is obviously a practicing Muslim who knows why Muslims are not to make depiction’s of prophets ! These depiction’s of the prophet were not made by Muslims and therefore do not violate the tenets of Islam ! A Muslim may not like the pictures and find them offensive but they do not have any bering on the practice of their beliefs ! Death threats,rioting and such does Islam more damage then any pictures could do and makes the average person who is uneducated about Islam wonder if it is a religion of peace ! As it says in all religions, pray for those who anger you !

The first picture is dubbed “Anti-Semitic” and is assumed to be the work of the devil himself. The second picture is supposed to be some sort of manifestation of freedom and a sign of a healthy democracy. I’m not sure that I understand the absolute wisdom behind this paradox, because they both look the same to me.

After all, world wars usually do not start because of lack of justice but, rather, because of bi-standards.

Now some of us, including myself, are moderate in our opinions, but are not neccessary moderate in our actions.
