Porn peddlers’ RIAA anti-P2P plan

p2pnet news | P2P:- Adult entertainment companies say they want to use the anti-P2P approach first initiated by Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG and their RIAA to fight online porn piracy.
At the XBIZ Hollywood Conference’s Piracy Roundtable, the adult entertainment market is "just around the corner from a complete collapse," unless, "something is done about piracy," declared lawyer Greg Piccionelli.
"We’re at the eleventh hour and the 59th minute."
Picionelli called for, "an aggressive enforcement campaign, including going the route favored by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in its anti-piracy effort – filing actions against end users for infringing on the copyrights of adult producers," says XBiz.com.
"People who consume stolen content don’t generally like to have that fact come out into the open," Picionelli said, "adding that such people will probably like being exposed as thieves even less when the stolen content in question is sexually explicit."
Sean Christian of AdultFriendFinder.comChristian, " noted that at the XBIZ Summer Forum, ‘There was a DJ spinning mash-ups at an XBIZ event at the Hard Rock Hotel, and that DJ was an employee of one of the companies on this panel,’ insinuating that copyright violations had taken place as a result of the DJ’s performance."
But, "DJ Airek rose from the crowd to directly respond to Christian’s criticism, saying ‘I’m the guy you’re talking about, and I think you’ve put your foot in your mouth here’."
According to Xbiz.com, "Airek observed that his entire record collection was purchased legally, that the Hard Rock pays a massive amount of licensing fees to ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and BMI (Broadcast Music Incorporated), and that he had not been compensated for his performance at the show."

Good riddance.
I hope they realize that the majority of porn being shared online isn’t copyrighted. Anyone with a camera can easily make their own.

Yeah, no kidding.
Unlike music or movies, you don’t even have to be reasonably talented at anything at all to make porn and be successful. You just have to be naked and get busy.
On the other hand, most of what the Cartels are pushing these days is completely mindless…

How stupid is this Piccionelli attorney of my butt! Copying the RIAA/MPAA tactic considering what a fiasco it is:
(Boycott exepending at a faster rate, 20% down in sale last year, P2p2 still growing and becomming anonymous and encrypted)
Good job RIAA/MPAA ! You are the champ!
There is another problem for the porn industry: it is so easy to make at home; just show your butt in front of a Cam corder! Big deal!

I made my own porn the other night involving hand puppets.

I joined one porn site after seeing pirated copies of their work. The samples on the web site were a pretty poor example of what they had to offer. It took seeing full-length videos to convince me to join. I only kept the subscription for a month, but they even tell users that they can do that in their FAQ.

Yet another reason to outlaw camcorders! Home videotaping is killing the porn industry!

Hahaha!!!!
These jokers are making me laugh!
Porn going down? Good!
They need a real job like all the other hard working citizens.
Music empire going down? Good.
If they don’t like it, get a REAL job like all others.
Sure, people have talent, beauty, but nothing beats working hard for your money & getting things the honest way.
At least we know now that the industries are making laws based NOT on what is right, but what is making $$$!
I applaud the collapse.

The constitution does not implicitly ensure that any individual or corporation can or even should make a profit. The RIAA, MNPA, and the pornographers are free to sink or swim on their own merit. That said, I do not believe they are free to cripple my computer with terrorist like tactics and if somehow they do so I will sue them into bankruptcy. All of us need to fight this lunacy.
