UK town site flooded by US military emails
p2pnet news | Security:- Sensitive information, "including future flight paths for US Presidential aircraft Air Force One, military strategy and passwords," landed in Gary Sinnott’s inbox after he’d posted www.mildenhall.com to promote Mildenhall, Suffolk where he lives.
Because Mildenhall is also home to the USAF 100th Air Refueling Wing, and and the similarity in domain names led to thousands of misdirected emails from Air Force personnel, says The Telegraph, quoting the Anglia Press Agency.
Email sent to addresses ending @mildenhall.com would have ended up in Mr Sinnott’s mailbox," says the story, adding:
"Now military bosses have blocked all military email to the address, and persuaded him to close down his site to end the confusion."
He’s promised to give up ownership of the address next month.

gee, let’s not actually fix the damn error or send the email encrypted or anything, nooooooo that’d be too much like securing the communications. Instead you give us the email address that get’s our emails and we’ll hope the bad guys don’t figure out how to do something similar…… yeah thats the ticket.

“persuaded”
yeah, right
“do this or we’ll destroy everything you know and love” is more like it, never quite known the US military to merely ’suggest’ something like this……
