The case of the missing penis
p2pnet news | Music:- Britain’s Royal Opera House has, "agreed to stop using a picture in its advertisements after an actor complained that his penis had been air brushed out of a nude image," says Reuters.
Apparently, Argenta’s Juan Pablo Di Pace, who stars alongside Meryl Streep and Colin Firth in the new film version of Mamma Mia!, "appeared to have no penis at all in the full-frontal shot used in publicity material for a production of Verdi’s Rigoletto," says the story.
The poster was "flattering" and looked like a "Caravaggio painting," the BBC has Di Pace saying, but he was, "surprised to see it advertising the show without being notified"
"In a way I feel exploited, no one even asked me if it was ok for me to have my naked body on display," the story quotes him as saying.
Last year the Royal Opera House was accused of "tacky" marketing, featuring dancer Edward Watson in "sexed-up" posters, says the Independent, adding:
"The campaign was criticised for lowering the status of the company."
