Nickelback Chad Kroeger booze charge
p2pnet news | Music:- Speaking of courts going soft on celebrity abusers, a Canadian judge has ruled a case against Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, stopped for speeding in his $176,000 Lamborghini near Vancouver, BC, 2006, can go ahead.
Kroeger, real name Chad Turton, had a blood-alcohol level allegedly nearly twice the legal limit, says the Canadian Press.
His lawyer tried to argue the Mountie who nailed him had conducted an unlawful search when he told Kroeger/Turton to blow into his face after detecting the smell of alcohol,
The RCMP officer waited too long before taking the first breath sample 15 minutes after stopping Kroeger and that the second sample, taken almost two hours later at the Surrey RCMP detachment, was also taken too late, says the attorney in the story.
"But Justice Peder Gulbransen disagreed, saying both samples were taken within a reasonable time and that the second sample took longer because Kroeger was upset over how his vehicle would be towed away," says CP.
When Kroeger was stopped, "an officer noted he had red, glossy eyes and a red, flushed face," says the CanWest News Service.
"He allegedly handed over his credit card when the officer asked for his driver’s licence."

If I had a Lamborghini I also would have been caught speeding down back roads. And I remember many times when I had been pulled over and I was so drunk I told the officer I was drunk. The only difference is that Chad Kroeger is famous so his name gets drug through the web and court files are made public, he is no different from any of us other drinkers, except for being famous. I feel sorry that he is not allowed a little privacy after all the pleasure Nickelback music has given us, I don’t think it is very much to allow him a little privacy. We all make mistakes, sad to say but he has done nothing any different than any other young man would do.
