p2pnet news | Movies:- Actor Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer but suggestions in the National Enquirer that he’s weeks away from death are "absolutely untrue", says his doctor.

News.com.au quotes US magazine Inside Edition as saying Swayze smoked up to three packs per day and wonders if tobacco addiction was involved, stating, "the habit became so bad it may have caused a plane crash in 2000"

"According to a National Transit Safety Board investigation, Swayze was flying his plane when he became physically impaired in the cockpit, possibly due to the cumulative effects engine fumes and tobacco," says the story.

Meanwhile, "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far," George Fisher, Swayze’s physician, said in the statement., states ABC News, quoting

William Blackstock, professor of radiation oncology at the Wake Forest University Comprehensive Cancer Center in Winston-Salem, NC, as saying:

"Sixty [percent] to 70 percent of pancreatic cancers are diagnosed in the most advanced stage – when it has spread to other organs – and we have, at best, minimally effective therapies for advanced pancreatic cancer."
