Online bootlegger audiomaxxx shut down

p2pnet news | Crime:- Here’s the boast of audiomaxxx.com.

All CategoriesCDs Dance Hall XXXclusives Live Culture Feature Artists Classics Soca Hip Hop> R n BDVDs
HUGE SALE EXTENDED FEB 29!!!!!!!!
ALL CDs and DOWNLOADS ARE NOW $3.99
ALL DVDs and DOWNLOADS ARE NOW $5.99!!!

Or, rather, it used to say that.

Now, when you try to access audiomaxx, you get: “The server at audiomaxxx.com is taking too long to respond.”

And it’ll never respond again.

Because it’s been shut down by the Mounties.

At the botton of the site, “© 2006 Audiomax Movements International / AudioMaxxx.com. All Rights Reserved.”

In fact, nothing had been reserved. Or licenced.

“RCMP investigators raided the Winnipeg-based shop of Audiomaxxx.com on Wednesday and seized 200,000 CDs and DVDs as well as computers, label-making machines and burning towers capable of copying 11,500 discs a day,” says the CBC, quoting RCMP spokeswoman sergeant Line Karpish as saying, “We’re looking at cube vans and U-Hauls worth of CD and computer equipment. It’s a lot.”

Material seized included recordings by such as Nelly Furtado and Shania Twain, but also smaller artists, the RCMP said.

“SCANDALOUS!!i” - said highlu under AUDIOMAXX cheat again! my ganja cultmix resold as MIGHTY CROWN on soundquake.com in January.

Investigators, “believe the operation extended well beyond Canada and the Caribbean,” says the Canadian Press. “It’s alleged products were also being shipped to Central America and Europe.”

About half of the discs officers hauled in Wednesday appeared ready for sale, the story says, adding:

“The disc burners that were also seized, according to police estimates, produce 11,500 discs a day.”

Under Canada’s Copyright Act, it is illegal to manufacture CDs, DVDs and digital downloads for sale, rent, distribution or public exhibition, says CP.

Say what? It’s illegal to manufacture cds.dvds, and digital downloads … well then arrest the CRIA and all the Canadian labels as well.

Sorry for putting this link here.

Read the comments at the bottom of page 4. very scary indead.

  4. Reader's Write Says:

Happy to see them going after real pirates for once. As much as I hate the copyright cops, it’s people like these pirates that lend any figures of “lost profit” to some kind of reality.

“In fact, nothing had been reserved. Or licenced.”

How do you know this? There have been no charges laid. Yet. From Alexa traffic they seem to have offended a lot of people while also apparently retailing via dance parties the DJ mixes … Did you think that maybe popular DJ’s use these guys for their stuff rather than making it themselves?

Note: I am not defending what they were doing. I just want to know who has been charged in this, facing criminal charges, like right now. The answer is apparently no one cause the evidence for the search warrant must have presented a challenge.

Check out www.audiomaxxx.net … where someone has used a proxy domain service to post a CRIA press release that the CRIA took down. There was a problem in the plans they had to publicize the event that I would suspect in the what evidence they actually found. Check out my blog post too if you like: http://northworthy.blogspot.com/2008/03/put-finger-down-your-throat-at-media.html

That is my .02 cents. Don’t know anything just like … others.

  6. Reader's Write Says:

Yo They had everything you can think of an then some…I know bootleging is illegal but I’m sure there was more to this than whats being told. How else would they get so much Music and DVD’s…SOMEONE HAS TO PROVIDE IT!….I think its wrong, but at the same Time it’s sad cause they kept you up on all thats Poppin in the Dancehall……it’s a Sad Sad day!!…..

    =(

  7. mixology Says:

men as a dj there is no other label or website in the world had kept me uptodate with riddims like audiomaxx i think he sould of just stick to reggae not porn and that other stuff

  8. Lawrence Says:

Well we have had an interesting development. I am not too sure the RCMP / GRC are going to like it or if it matters.

Take a look at UPDATE 13 (same link). I don’t like it. The original RCMP press release posted might have been doctored. I wonder why the CRIA update is posted on the RCMP press release. Sgt Karpish said there was no need to update her press release. Editorial remarks of the CRIA in the “original” RCMP press release? Uh uh … might be a “replica” and an inappropriate use of RCMP property. The title is also funky.

  9. nyce Says:

leave dem alone and suck unu mada

  10. CHAOS Says:

YO I DON’T CARE WHAT HE WAS DOING WHO HE WAS DOING IT WITH NOW HOW HE WAS DOING IT….I LOVED AUDIOMAXXX.COM NOW TO THE MAIN QUESTION AT HAND…..HOW DO I GET MY MONEY BACK FOR THE $80 I SPENT ON 17 CDs

  11. Dubmaster outta Rio Says:

Well for me it’s a bad news.

I’m Brazilian and here’s very difficult to get the original records at the release point. By our import laws, it´s too expensive and the vynils came too late.

I play inna regular party, every week opened. The people need more and more good news. Audiomaxxx gave me this opportunnity to know how the reggae culture roll.
